And the much more likely rumor that we're only joining in wrestling, I have a couple questions. What conference are we in now for wrestling? Are we trying to join the Big 12?

We're in the Western Wrestling Conference that we've pretty well dominated since Branch came in. The other power team was Northern Iowa, but they bolted last year I think, driving the conference's SOS down. Hence why we're looking to join the Big 12 in Wrestling.

Okay, that would make more sense than the entire athletic department joining the Big 12.

yeah it really doesn't make sense for the rest of the sports to go that route, unless you created a super large conference, Wyoming being a small market it wouldn't make sense to compete in that type of conference, imo

The WWC is slowly dying.. very few teams, and the only other quality team right now is NDSU. Not sure what the other schools would do if Wyoming bolted the WWC, but Wyoming is a respectable program and needs a better home.

Wrestling is now, and will be Wyo. strongest sport as far as national rankings. It would make sense for them to get in this conference that has such a strong tradition in wrestling. Wyo fans should be following this program and telling anyone that will listen about it.

Agreed, but the fact of the matter is, there's a lot of people who couldn't give 2 poop about wrestling

Wrestling is our strongest sport right now in terms of rankings, but with as respected as the MWC is in hoops, the mens team could be our highest ranked team in the future.

If Shyatt can continue to improve this team year after year, we will find ourselves ranked consistently just due to our conference.
If you ever need to laugh, just remember there was some idiot who wanted Bohl fired after 2 seasons.

Big 12 in wrestling is at least as respected as MWC in basketball though, if that move happens and we stay at the same level we've been at with branch and that could be a consistent top 10
