In case you looked at our roster in the tweet above, it's not accurate. For some reason, the NCAA wants the players listed like they didn't just give everyone an extra year of eligibility. So in reality, we have zero seniors, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores, and 7 freshmen if our players exercise their extra year of eligibility.

Well, according to the MWC media, the only teams worse than Wyoming this year in the MWC are AFA and SJSU...

We're owed nothing by the media until we win. We're out to earn respect this year.
Cowboys need to be a lot better defensively if they want to prove the MWC media wrong....

Time will tell, but tied for 8th is 9th in my book.

Those scrimmages are a secret for a reason. Coaches play everyone, try different combinations, experiment with strategies. It's not like they play the starting 5 for 30 minutes.
A team like Utah (i.e. more depth) probably should beat us in a closed door scrimmage.

Why would Utah have more depth? I say that with the caveat that I don’t know how many players didn’t play. Obviously Foster and Reynolds are probably still out, but both teams have the same number of scholarship players. They are in the first year of a new head coach. That wouldn’t speak well of our staff if they have more depth in their first year than we do in our second.WestWYOPoke wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:23 pm Those scrimmages are a secret for a reason. Hopefully this doesn’t indicate anything real about the season, but it is still disappointing news.

I wouldn’t read into anything with that scrimmage.
The coaches actually stop plays at certain points if things aren’t run right and work on out of bounds plays and all sorts of stuff. Like was said it is never a straight up scrimmage where both teams just keep going up and down the court like a regular game for 30 or 40 minutes.

Who knows what happened in that scrimmage? I don't know if it's worth worrying ourselves about. It might have been a case where the coaching staff knows who their starters are going to be and are more interested in seeing the guys that will fill out the bench rolls. Or maybe Ike or Dusell didn't play.
If Maldonado, Wenzel, and Foster were still out that would make sense that we didn't play very well. I expect all three to be major contributors.
