I love your enthusiasm but the average fan doesn't see San Jose State as a very big game. Add in the night game and possibility for showers and I just don't see that level of crowd. Hope I am wrong.

I guessed 18000-20000. Weather not so great , SJSU not a team a lot of people know or care about, evening start time and opening day of hunting season in many areas. If they had beaten BYU I would have expected over 24000.

Averaging 20,500 through 3 home games thus far. I don't think we surpass that average by 3,500 for a night game against San Jose St. I'm guessing more in the 18-20K range.

I'm guessing 20k - and and some change.
It's too early in the season to guess less than 20k. It's to late in the season to guess more than 20k. Weather looks to be reasonable enough. After covid, we are getting alot of old guys that want to go to the grocery store and talk about the game they got over the years and are bored.
Actually its SJSU, and I bet too many of the boomers are thinking "Is this the real deal, or should I look at my hunting trophy's and watch from the couch). I take my vote back. 19.5k or so.
We beat SJSU, I bet we see a jump.

I think it will eclipse the Air Force game by a few thousand. That Friday night crowd was great but I think it was 18,000? I'll go with somewhere in the area of 22,000. If we had better food and concessions maybe a little bit more. Only kidding, although we do have maybe the worst concessions of any stadium I've ever been to.

Wow, it looked bad but that is terrible. Thankfully the students showed up or otherwise it would be a scary bad number.
Although the fans who stayed home or went hunting might have been the real winners on Saturday.

17,000 for the game this past Saturday night was awful to be honest. I was very surprised to see that number after the game. Then again maybe it was to be expected? I forecast 5,000 more than what actually showed up. The enthusiasm for Pokes football is apparently lacking big time.

I hate...HATE...leaving a game early, no matter what. That happened for me and all my guests Saturday at the 6:12 mark of the 4th.OrediggerPoke wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 10:25 amWow, it looked bad but that is terrible. Thankfully the students showed up or otherwise it would be a scary bad number.

I thought about it as well but stayed until the bitter end. The War cleared out a lot faster than I can remember when SJS scored that touchdown in the 4th to ice the game. Went to the game with a friend who noticed how quickly people pulled the plug on the game and started leaving, not really paying attention before he said something I looked around and it was pretty amazing how fast they were heading for the exits. Thankfully the wind wasn't bad this past Saturday night otherwise who knows how many would have showed up or how quickly people would have left.McPeachy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 10:32 amI hate...HATE...leaving a game early, no matter what. I’m with you. I can’t remember leaving early very often (if ever). After SJSU put together that last long drive and gashed us for 10 yards a run and then a TD, I figured if the team packed it in than I could too.McPeachy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 10:32 amI hate...HATE...leaving a game early, no matter what. The thing about Bohl teams over the years has been the lack of quit. I’m pretty sure we pretty much gave up at half because there was zero emotion or enthusiasm on the sideline.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but...as a season goes on, support for the team is earned, not guaranteed or automatically deserved.

From the team / coach perspective, I agree...support from the fanbase is earned!!!!DamThatRiver22 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 03, 2022 2:14 pm This might be an unpopular opinion, but...as a season goes on, support for the team is earned, not guaranteed or automatically deserved.
poop the bed on the field, or in your comfy RAC offices = less and less support each week and season.

Don't get me wrong, early in the season I think the unconditional support is needed, for a variety of reasons.
But several games into a season, if there are clear problems and the team is spiraling, and/or there is a clear culture issue or a sense of giving up, or the playcalling is extremely uninspired/conservative...a team and/or coaching staff doesn't automatically deserve money or energy from a fanbase.
