Stinks. Understandable, seeing that we don't throw to the TEs much and he was buried on the depth chart.

I’ll never fault an athlete that makes the decision to step away and focus on academics. Football will not pay the bills for the vast majority of players. I faced a similar decision many years ago (although I was athletically not even in the stratosphere of a D1 scholarship player). I chose academics and believe it was the right choice. I did not have the capacity nor smart enough to do both.

So much respect from me. It’s a tough decision for a person that loves competition.
