Definitely pissed about dropped balls, drop punt, but defense played well and will be much improved. Pokes will rebound and be ok. This season will be like the 93 season when we lost early to Oregon state and rebounded and 87 when I believe we lost early twice. I just wish we would have had a garner Webb before Iowa.

Actually, this aint like 1987 but it is like 1993.

In 1987 we beat Air Force in the opener in Laramie, 37-13, before losing to both Wazzu (@ Pullman) and Okie State (in Laramie) before turning things around and winning the next 9 games before losing to Iowa in the 1987 Holiday Bowl.

In 1993, however, we lost to Oregon State, 27-16, in Laramie before winning the next 7 games before losing to UNM (in Albuquerque) and to Fort Fart (in Laramie), and rebounding with a win @ SDSU before losing badly to K-State in the 1993 Copper Bowl.

In fact, 1958 & 1993 are the only times we lost the opener and still made it to a bowl.

This will be a team that gets better as the years go on and some of these younger guys get some more reps. We all knew going in that replacing dang near every skill position wasn't going to be as easy as we want. This team will be fine.

So we lost a early season away game and turned it around? Yeah you're right nothing like this year where we...oh wait...we lost an early season away game??

Yep - we lost a bit too much on offense to go up against this caliber of a team. We slow started last year and built up as the season went on. Would have been much nicer to have a home game to start the season.
