Re: Sad news....

This is just awful. I can't imagine what their families and team are going through. Tragic loss of young lives.

Sounds like a little drama? Is a split near?

Re: UW Block Grant Budget Amendment

I would agree that it's probably not good. On the other hand, perhaps what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If the feds can do it to push a political position why can't a state? I don't agree with it but threatening funding for political/ideological compliance is not new. Should we aspi...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

Numbers don't agree with you. Matches some of Bohl's best records against a stronger schedule. Bsu and unlv were great last year. What numbers don’t agree with me? The 303 rushing yards we gave up to then WAC 1-3 Utah State in the 63-19 blasting? Or is it the 255 yards rushing we gave up to the mig...

Re: I'm pround to not be a Nike school anymore

What do you think of the coaching hire(s) process at UW? Acceptable or are we "ignoring an underlying problem"? I'm not privy to how the exact process played out. Were other candidates considered, discussed, reached out to in private? I would hope that quality candidates of all ethnicitie...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

DCs 8 win team was right up there with some of Bohl's better teams. Bohl's team in 2018, covid, and even last year weren't anything to write home about. I forgot, we're also excluding covid year  No it wasn't. That 2011 DC team team was blasted by then WAC (and 7-6) Utah State 19-63 and then ...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

5-7 is a lot different than 6-6  Of course if you're into point differential, I guess Bohl was blown out a couple games fewer in those mediocre years. Yay! If you can’t see the difference between DC’s last year and the teams that Bohl put on the field then I don’t know what to tell you. DC’s ...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

DC's last year was pretty damn close to several of Bohl's years. Now I know for sure that you're trolling. DC couldn't make a bowl game with Brett Smith and a SOS ranked 107th in the country. 5-7 is a lot different than 6-6  Of course if you're into point differential, I guess Bohl was blown ...

Re: I'm pround to not be a Nike school anymore

I'm not a fan of Kaepernick or his other issues as mentioned by ItSucksToBeACSURam, but this issue is about more than him, and the underlying problems behind this mess need to be addressed, not ignored. What do you think of the coaching hire(s) process at UW? Acceptable or are we "ignoring an ...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

That's where you're misinterpreting at least my contention. Bohl built a team that could consistently beat teams that rank x (I'll do some stats when I get time) and lower while rarely beating teams ranked y or higher in a given year. All coaches do just the x and y are different. The weaker schedu...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

Looks like I missed some stuff with the number of conference games too. But honestly, there’s still so many changing variables that I don’t think affected all teams equally, especially in Bohls tenure. Divisions, no divisions, teams not playing the same suite of teams as those teams they are being ...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

DC's last year was pretty damn close to several of Bohl's years. As we discussed, DC left a program in tatters. Excluding Bohl's first 2 years, please point me to a season where Bohl's teams utterly got their asses handed to them losing to Texas State by 21, Colorado State by 30, San Jose State, Fr...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

5 years of dc, 27-35; 16-23; 2 bowl games 5 years of Bohl; 28-35; 19-21; 2 bowl games DC was not a good coach. The mwc was $hitty enough that I see no reason he couldn't continue similarly to his first 5 years. A marginal bump in success puts him pretty damn close to Bohl. This is a ridiculous comp...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

Well, using your conference win metric, dc increased to 3.2 which is well above previous years. If good for Bohl should also be good for dc, right? If you want to make that claim, you are free to do so. My previous response stands. I'm just trying to follow your logic? Your analysis applied to dc w...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

So, 307, then dc was a good coach? Analyzing conference wins fire first 5 years, he's similar to Bohl. I what to be careful so I don't get misunderstood. Your question is (paraphrased), "was DC a good coach?".... If my options are yes/no then I would say no. It would be a misunderstanding...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

DC was mid-mwc most years except 1. I'd characterize it as going from low mediocre to high mediocre. Bohl is definitely better than DC not arguing that. If DC wasn't such an ass, I think he'd eventually been pretty similar over time. That's speculation. Based on the body of work, Bohl is obvious be...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

Actually, the last year for DC was 5-7 and 3-5. Pretty similar to several of Bohl's years. I'll stick with kept us out of the cellar. Arguably 2021 would have been a cellar year if not for weak ooc. Another year where a $hit schedule saved us. ...well...I'm trying to find a non-controversial broad ...

Re: Craig Bohl's Legacy

Looks like we pretty much agree. Bohl kept us out of the cellar like csu and unm. Bohl largely couldn't beat upper mediocre to good teams; he could beat bad teams. Luckily we faced a lot of bad teams. Just not that controversial. I apologize for being pedantic...but saying Bohl "kept" us ...
