Re: Should Wyoming join The Big Ea...I mean The Big National
We are stuck where we are because the "leadership" of the Mountain West has done a horrible job in promoting the league in general. Honestly we were better off on ESPN, but BYU and Utah started bitching about TV money and thus the Mountain network was born and when it was clear it was not...

Re: Is All the Re-alignment Due to 1 Year of a TV Contract?
The TV contract with CSTV was based on The Mtn getting reasonable distribution, which it never did. BYU swears they were told they could keep their 3rd tier rights to broadcast home games on BYU TV, but that wasn't in the contract they signed. Then CBS bought CSTV, and all the deals were off. We're ...

Is All the Re-alignment Due to 1 Year of a TV Contract?
Without the BCS AQ in 2014, it looks to me like all the Big East has to offer is one more year of a decent TV contract. Because based on the looks of it now, their negotiations for a bigger contract after 2015 are dead. They have nothing long term to offer any prospective member. The MWC would be in...

Re: DC throws players under the bus
Here is how this argument will break down: "he threw his players under the bus" = "I dislike Christiansen for other reasons, valid or invalid, and will jump his @ss any chance I get" The tackling for the last several years have been bad. - Shoulder checking is OK in hockey, becau...

Re: Library Bar moving?
I was there 88-93 when we knew it as the Drawbridge and TD's Dance Club, we knew the liquor store as the Lil Brown Jug, and hence I still refer to it as that. This is kinda sad as I'm sure they'll put a chain restaurant in there, no one really ever went to the Library for food, it was purely a drin...

Re: Philosophy professors' take on Howdy Doody gate
I like those guys. "In terms of what this says about his program, the message is rather clear: “I cannot tolerate cheaters” (or “I cannot f---- — tolerate f---- — cheaters”). For the university administration, the message appears to be: “We do not countenance verbal abuse—at least when it’s mad...

Re: And the saga continues!
It's just proof that Burman was out-right lying when he said he needed a week to get legal advice on the fine and suspension.
He caved because the foundation director sent a heated email AFTER THE FRESNO LOSS. What a wuss.

Re: How big of a deal is this?
I completely agree with you. Wyo did nothing wrong in that instance, but it is a mark that the program will always carry. It WILL never be forgotten. And I whole heartedly embrace it. We struggled through it and got back to relevance. Yes, had the B-14 never happened we may be in Nebraska's shoes r...

I grant that may be the case, but I think that particular guy's argument doesn't pass the stink test.HR_Poke wrote:He wasn't the only one to complain about DC nor was he the only caller saying he wouldn't let his kid go to Wyoming now.

Re: Leave it to a COLORADO newspaper to opine on a WYOMING i
The management failure begins and ends with Christensen. He does his job, this doesn't happen. This is football, not life and death. Burman had to talk to lawyers, know the legal, contractual path to follow, listen to donors and boosters, adjust the path, talk to lawyers regarding the adjustment, a...

Re: It was an AF cameraman who shot the video
How is that "true"? You have no idea when Burman concluded what he had to do, whether it was before or after the posting of the video. Let's just say that he did make the decision in a timely manner, before the video was posted. Then he waited several days. That's just worse. He is a big ...

Re: Leave it to a COLORADO newspaper to opine on a WYOMING i
Burman has been careful, thoughtful, and deliberative through all of this, which is far more than I can say for Christensen following the AFA game. This is unprecedented in UW athletics. The only situation I'm aware of that came close was that it's pretty well known that both Cunningham and, then, ...

Re: DC suspended & fined
What a chicken sh*t move by Burman. He does this over a week after the initial problem and the reprimand from the MWC office? He grabbed a bucket and got on a bike, rode downstream about 50 miles, filled the bucket with water, rode back upstream 50 miles and dumped the water it in the stream...so it...

The need to seriously look at how to retain the gray part of that uniform. It really popped on the TV and streams I watched. The camo part I suggest be replaced, but the overall effect was good.

Hey, Wyokie I didn't want to do anything to keep that other thread alive, but you asked about what happened to Slider.
