Re: Bball gurus, are we in trouble?
To summarize my thoughts about Herndon in response to the posts above: I agree that he is not a great rebounder or defender, which is why I say he has to play alongside Naughton/Barnes. We can only go small and get by with him as the only big on the floor in very limited situations. As long as one o...

Re: Bball gurus, are we in trouble?
, an athletic and experienced four who is a jump shot away from wrecking defenses, Herndon also just isn't very athletic. We all know he lacks strength, but he also isn't a very bouncy athlete like Cooke for example. I agree with you his best case scenario is developing a lethal 3 point shot, but h...

Re: Bball gurus, are we in trouble?
I do like Cowducks post a lot but I wish I shared his optimism about us potentially being really good next year. Ragtime I don't think the shot clock or pace of play are really the important issues, the problem is simply the general lack of talent on the roster. Doesn't matter what the scheme or an...

Re: Bball gurus, are we in trouble?
I would say we are already adapting. Last season: 642 3 pt. FGA and we made 32.6% of those shots. This season: 852 3 pt. FGA, and we made 37.2% of those shots. To some degree that's an effect of losing Nance and Cooke, but I saw perimeter shooting and spacing as a bigger component of our offense thi...

Re: Trib.com Article on Lieberman
IMO the #1 job of a point guard, especially a little point guard is being able to get by your man off the dribble and distribute to the open man. I've only see this from Josh, JJ, Trey washington and occasionally JMac this year. Our offense is predicated on someone being able to get into the lane a...

Re: Trib.com Article on Lieberman
I also remember hearing when Lieberman signed that his family bought the house of recently fired Dave Christensen, anyone else hear the same? If so, there is some big $$$$'s in the family. Or is the whole family living in Laramie? I think the answer to both is yes. I believe they moved out when he ...

Re: Schollie possibilities
We're really unlikely to get an impact recruit at this point, especially one that will help next season. I'd rather get a 2017 recruit we've been on for a while and have already determined will be a help (and we are on some high quality players in that class) than take a backup plan for 2016. Whethe...

Re: Schollie possibilities
I said it in the other thread, but I'm in favor of sitting on that scholarship and having three to give the 2017 class. We're on some really good players in that group.

Re: 2016 recruiting thread....
Bump. 2016 is back on. Who's it going to be? Sit on the scholarship and have three for the 2017 class. With Thompson, Stewart, and Avea high on our priority list and that crew liking each other a lot, I think we should swing for the fences with that class. I'd rather give the scholarship to a playe...

Re: Not a reliable source yet, but Nebraska is trying to poa
Hey guys, I just wanted to extend this olive branch to the great Wyoming fan base. David is my kin through marriage, and I've had the privilege of working with David in youth football. He's been a great kid and athlete from a very young age and has worked hard to get where he's at. With that said, ...

Re: Wyoming vs Marshall Thread
Obviously I didn't get to watch this game, and maybe people with more basketball knowledge than me can chime in. But it seems like our rebounding problem is not the boxing out phase, it's the attack the ball phase. I've seen some Tom Izzo rebounding videos, and his mantra is "hit, find, and go...

Re: Cory Calvert
Got this off of the BYU board about Calvert. Anacondas All-American That's not his plan On the Coach Rose show last week, Coach Rose mentioned that Cory's plan is to go home after this past semester and work out with his high school coach. Then he'll plan to enroll at a school next Fall and redshir...

Re: Cory Calvert
Did I read that right? He's at BYU? The cost of fumigating him if he comes here is not worth it  This. I wouldn't care if he was Jimmer Fredette II. Anyone who plays for that program is DQ'd in my book. Pretty sure Burman would have to sign off on it, ultimately, and I know he'd probably...
