Re: Wyoming @ Ohio Prediction Thread
I think this seals a bowl bid for the Pokes, barring a stumble along the way. HUGE road win for the team.. they obviously played an opponent worth a hoot, so it has to be a morale booster for the team. Great win by the Cowboys, too bad I could only follow it on my phone, but great win. And great win...

Did you guys steal this from the Boise board last week?
Regardless, nice work. Stop by more often. And Ryan Yarborough f'ing rules! I got his autograph when I was a wee lad after a CSU game.

Re: Unis and the MWC
I think you touched most of the bases, Spin. One other thing you could look at is states that have multiple teams in multiple conferences.. Colorado being a prime example, but Fort Collins and Boulder are what.. less than 50 miles away from each other?

Re: Local Article About the Cowboys
Good article. I think the teams matchup well, but hopefully the Pokes can break their bad habit of road losses.

Re: Unis and the MWC
When you did this realignment, did you factor in 1-AA teams as well, or just 1-A?

Re: Unis and the MWC
Breaking up Wyoming/BYU would be bad juju... it hurt the rivalry big time when the WAC was broken into east/west. I'd just about be in favor of dropping TCU (let 'em go to CUSA with UTEP) and bring in Montana (sorry, can't help it). TCU isn't exactly a "mountain" state.. you know?

I don't know if it's a state law, but the Board of Regents governs all Montana universities under one umbrella.

Re: Unis and the MWC
I say leave Hawaii out, nothing against the warriors, just don't think it is a good fit for our conference, and I always dreaded when we had to travel out there. Just too far away. I agree that we should look at Boise St. adn Fresno, both solid programs that would complement the conference. Montana...

Re: Unis and the MWC
Montana will be at 25,000 after this season. Which outdraws UNLV, SDSU, New Mexico, and even Wyoming. Might be small, but full to the brim every week.

Re: Unis and the MWC
Probably because Hawaii was the chairman of the meeting when the WAC decided to go to 16 teams and Hawaii had the tie-breaking vote. The WAC voted 5-4 with 1 absent n favor of adding 6 schools (UNM's president was at a funeral at the time of the vote). Besides there was some backroom dealing. A lit...

Pictures for the banner
Hey Poke fans! Anyone got some pictures from the games so far this year they'd like to share for the banner on the front page? Basically we'd insert them into the scrolling banner on the main page and every few pictures it would show up. If you got them, put 'em up and we'll post them.

Re: Unis and the MWC
Hawaii is a travel cost that I think the MWC was happy to get rid of when the WAC split happened back in the 90s. Not cheap to go to the islands, for sure. Utah State, New Mexico State, and Louisiana Tech haven't complained about the costs of flying to Honolulu. But notice that Hawaii didn't exactl...
