Re: Portland State Game
Would love to see a defensive score and a lot of young faces from the 2nd team against Portland State. Hopefully a smooth game and not like the last couple of FCS games where it's way too close for comfort for 3 quarters.

Re: MWC Week 1
Watched the first half of the Fresno-Purdue game before heading up to Laradise and their QB and receivers are salty. Defense didn't look bad, but efficient offense and good decision making. Not gonna read too much into Boise, they've got a ton of talent as always, but Washington is legit. Penix coul...

Re: Running Clock
Ball control, assuming some key first downs will help the Pokes out a ton. There was a drive in the Navy-Notre Dame game that Navy ultimately missed a field goal on, but they ran on each down, picked up a string of first downs and ran nearly 9 minutes off the clock. I see that a win for this style o...

But they have a "way more passionate fan base" than Wyoming. Great new facility down there and nobody cares.

Re: What kind of football team are the Wyoming Cowboys
Beat up on the offensive side of the ball. Team should be a force on defense, probably even more so than in past seasons.Offense will be power running, not sure what to expect after losing one of the feature backs. 9-3 ceiling, 4-8 floor.

Re: We were close last year
I'm cautiously optimistic this year. Agree though that this defense could go down as one of the all time Wyoming D's. The front 7 should maul people. I think Peasley has the potential to move this team to the top, just need to limit turnovers. A 20-10 td/int ratio passing would be a huge step in the...

Re: How many are going to the spring game?
If the weather's nice I'll definitely be there. I'll be curious to see what changed over the course of the spring. I haven't been to a spring game since the Christensen era, so hopefully I can make it up. More an excuse to go enjoy a nice day in Laramie than anything else.

Re: At what point do we start to ask questions about Linder?
It’s not like Wicks is taking a lateral or backward move. He has an opportunity to be a head coach. Good for him. Timing isn’t great for us but don’t overreact. This 100%. Every coach wants the shot to be the head guy at a D1 program. Bad timing for sure, but you can't fault a coach for making this...

Re: Bohl is excited for spring ball
I'm pretty optimistic too. Like a few others have mentioned, this defensive line should be remarkably good. Not that it's a the deed aspect of the game, but it definitely decides games. I think Peasley with a year under his belt in the system "should" be better. I seriously hope the staff ...

Beautiful day in Laramie today, maybe that'll coax a few more people to pop over. Ugh. Gut punch of a season is right though.

Re: MWC Bowls
Good win for AF over Baylor. Saw on Twitter that a lot of people are wondering why more Big 12 teams don't switch back to the option offense with AF cruising, particularly Oklahoma people. It would be entertaining to see a P5 school with their resources etc throw the ball less than 10 times a game.

Fresno was impressive yesterday on both sides of the ball. I thought that might actually be a pretty good game but Fresno dominated.

Re: Appalachian Fan Advice
Glad to hear some App State fans will be heading out west. Went to Boone back in 2014 for the Pokes-App State game and felt instantly at home in Boone. Lots of similarities between the schools/towns and I keep tabs on App State after visiting. Altitude, Library, and Bond's all have beers worth check...

Will probably go. Fiance's parents don't live too far from Tucson, go support the team, eat some good food, get out of the cold. Not terribly hyped up but it should be a fun time. Went back in 19 and had a blast, one of the more fun bowl game experiences I've been to.

Re: Some Wyoming fans are not Cowboy tough
A couple of things. Attendance for late season games is always going to be brutal in Wyoming. Hunting > Wyoming Football, don't care how good we are. Game day atmosphere can be great, but the War needs upgrades, plain and simple. UW is working on it, but it's gonna be a while. Wyoming fans in genera...

Re: Fresno
Fresno with Haener are a very good team. They've clinched their spot as the winner of the West but I don't think that means they'll just go on cruise control. After the gut punch Boise game I can see the Pokes coming out fired up and playing for pride, but I just don't think we've got the offense to...

I'll believe it when I see it. It's sad to see the loss of regional tradition etc. but that's the landscape these days.
