Re: Let's be the first...
Every MWC conference game and home game that is not televised. Excellent. So we have the means and content. I guess the question then becomes, could we get the entire MWC streamed channel on something like Netflix, Hulu, or whatever and is it worth the effort since it is available at themwc.com. Wh...

Re: Semi-OT: Students push back against athlete unions
The more I read articles like this and see the uneducated comments by people, the more astounded I get. Being immersed in the world of higher education for the majority of the last decade, I may not be privy to the general public's understanding of how college athletics works. Can someone please tel...

Re: NCAA making some changes
So transferring after your redshirt year and before you graduate would carry no consequences to nomadic players? So what happens when there is a kid who goes to a MWC or MAC school and was receiving some interest from a Pac12 or Big10 school, then he red-shirts, puts on 20 pounds of muscle his fres...

Re: NCAA making some changes
Just came across this article from the NCAA. http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/council-recommends-transfer-policy-change It looks like they would need to apply for (and be granted) a hardship waiver in order to get the 6th year added to their eligibility. So similar to a medical ...

Re: NCAA making some changes
That's how I'm interpreting it; they would still have to sit out a year, but would get one back at the end of their normal eligibility.

NCAA making some changes
"Let them have cream cheese with their bagels!"
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story ... was-absurd
Interesting point in the article talks about adding an extra year to any athletes that transfer and have to sit out a year as a result.

Re: Bohl #1 coach in MWC, #59 in country
Hell, this is about as optimistic as WyoNation gets. If you think this is bad, come back mid-season after a few losses (which even BeaverPoke will admit, we are sure to have). Even if the losses are expected and we perform better than most think we should, there will still be a few on here talking a...

Re: any updates on Larry's rehab??
I don't want him to play until he's 100%, but I want that to be next year. I don't think it has to be by mid-November. If he can't play until early to mid-December, then I don't think he should redshirt. If he's not ready to go until January, then go ahead and take a redshirt. Basically, if playing...

Just did a quick look at his Twitter. Five days ago he posted that he was able to get out and shoot for the first time post-op. Doesn't mean much but he isn't behind schedule at the least.

I'm hoping either the Vikings or the Broncos pick him. I'm selfish that way! :D He's going to be a steal for whoever gets him. I want either the Packers to pick him up (heir to Rogers, after Rogers leads the Packers to the NFL's 2nd or 3rd ever undefeated season with a Super Bowl win (1-2 seasons t...

That was a year and a half ago. I'd like to think that he has at least developed a little since then. Granted DC wasn't known for his player development, but I have to think at least a little took place. I'll reserve my judgement until I actually see Captain Kirk play.

Re: This is how college football should be run
College football head coaches ego's are way too big for this to ever work. How do you figure? It's pretty straight forward, you have to put up or shut up. You think Texas or Florida would agree to this? Despite all their advantages, they would be put into FCS or Div 2 with their recent records. No,...

Re: BR 7th round Mock Draft
This is how I see it. Herron is a 2nd to 4th round guy. Huff is a 2nd to 5th round kind of guy. Smith could go in the 2nd, but I could also see him going undrafted. My prediction is 3rd for Herron, 4th for Huff, and 5th for Smith due to his history of concussions and the fact he's been in a gimmick...

Re: Scholarship question
I think the NCAA rule is worded something along the lines of: a stipend to equal the average cost of living (room + board)for the average student. This is why a player at UCLA is probably getting a bigger stipend than one at UW.

Re: Walker Madden & McKenna leave?
You see here is the thing...I am pretty sure the coaching staff, Bohl In particular, doesn't want the public hearing his coaching staff talking to these young men in the fashion that they are. That is why the practice is closed as well as to eliminate any possible distractions. I get that it is the...

Re: Walker Madden & McKenna leave?
Thanks for the explanation SH. From your previous post, it sounded more like you were saying Bohl and the entire staff are tyrants and they have closed practices in order to keep their abuse of players a private issue. This last post does a better job explaining what you were inferring earlier.

Re: Northwestern players win bid to unionize
Unfortunately, cutting football would most likely lead to cutting other programs as a lot of programs are funded from the profits football brings in. In those cases, I would see schools cutting non-revenue sports first (wrestling, track, swimming, etc.) in order to have enough money to give to the n...
