Re: Wyoming Cowboy Basketball 2011/12
Sadly, here is an alternate view from a guy that has a following over in Cheyenne (where a healthy chunk of sellout fans would come from): http://www.cheyenneherald.com/_pdf/2012 ... ge%202.pdf

Re: Wyoming facilities article,
I am still not a fan of the significant downsize for the AA (10-12,000 max) that I understand is part of the plan. It says even more about what Schroyer did to the program if 15,000 seems unrealistically outsized for UW.

Re: Two more verbals
I am just thinking about balance and I would add Colorado, Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa to your list. I am not a fan of relying on only one or two baskets for all of our eggs.

Just curious, how many members of this recruiting class grew up someplace where it freezes sometimes in both October and March?

Re: CUSA/MW could dissolve, form new conference
Notice how the schools are not talking about the loss of an automatic bid to the Big Dance either. This is a mistake. The idea of a joint venture for the football participants that match up the top team from each side for an overall champion on the championship Saturday in December made sense. Other...

I think it looks like Alexander is leaving early for selfless reasons rather than the selfish reasons we are accustomed to seeing. I feel much, much better about it now--as if what I think matters.

Re: Andy Katz
Andy Katz of ESPN has this game as one of his national games to track this afternoon: http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketba ... is-weekend
If ESPN's crowd thinks this is a game worth paying attention to, I sure hope Poke fans think so to.

Is Paul Roach still around? Even Coach Tiller was kind of in Coach Roach's shadow for his six seasons.Cornpoke wrote:It would be great to have Tillers presence felt around the program but I doubt DC's ego would allow that.

Not a fan of the Pistol Pete image.
I agree with everyone on here that says that, no matter what the helmet design looks like, I am all in favor of anything that helps keep brains from getting smashed and scrambled.

Attendance Tomorrow
For the people who live within an couple-three hours of Laramie, what is your sense about people going to the game tomorrow? Any idea about the attendance? Is there a real buzz about the team about casual fans yet? I am really curious about what the feeling is around campus? Are students talking abo...

Tiller
According to this interview on KFBC out of Cheyenne, Coach Tiller holds season tickets for the Pokes (along with Montana State and Purdue). I think you have to like that. I doubt Coach Dimmel does.

Re: New Mexico @ Wyoming
Laramie is definately much more fun in the summer than winter. Also, since we are talking about college basketball here I assume that fans are also the type of people who are not opposed to learning something new and unrelated to sports. That said, given the early afternoon gametime, I would suggest...

Re: NCAA Tourney?
I don't think Shyatt set up our conference schedule with conference RPI in mind. We had a new coaching staff coming in to take over a team that hadn't won a road game in a long time, with a dismal record, and a team that lost about 75% of it's scoring due to defections. I'm pretty sure Shyatt &...

Re: NCAA Tourney?
One thing that I think might be getting lost in this conversation is that the MWC has surpassed the Pac 10/12 in RPI. Relatively speaking, we are a stronger league than we were a decade ago. All of that said, I think the whole league would be stronger if we could improve our (UW's) out of conference...

Re: Redshirts
I could be wrong, but for some reason I am thinking that, in basketball, a player cannot play beyond a certain point in a season but can play in games very early in the season.
Does that sound right to anyone else?

Re: Will ya watch the Alabama & LSU Game?
I intend to try, but for some reason ESPN is one of the channels that does not come in as clearly as the network channels on my cable package. What does it say about the college football bowl season if the culminating game is only being carried on the cable channel instead of the main network? Cable...

Re: NCAA Tourney?
Personally, I think even making the NIT would be overachieving for this teams talent level. I would be more than happy with a CBI/College Insider tournament appearance. Shyatt is really getting every ounce of potential out of these guys. From what I have seen and heard, it sounds like Coach Shyatt ...

We are still a mystery, but a compelling one. I am more interested in the next basketball game than I am in football recruiting and that has not been the case in many years.

Re: Top Colorado recruits bypass Rams/Buffs
Of course they should bypass Boulder and Fort Collins on their way up 187 to Laramie. How many committments do we have out of Colorado this year already? I like the fact that last year two basketball players from Colorado understood that playing in Laramie is the same thing as staying home, except t...
