Re: Time to vote again for the ship
It's THIS close against South Dakota State, really?! We'd get killed against Notre Dame or Alabama. I was surprised South Dakota State made it as far as they did. The Jackrabbit logo is too cartoonish for my taste. Anybody here thinks it is better than the Army or Penn State (the logo not the insti...

Re: Will there be football this fall?
First, being disgruntled with a communist-facist regime has nothing to do with their biological ethnicity. I don't like communist regimes whether they be German, Russian, Chinese, Korean, or some old white guy from Vermont. Admittedly, I am a little cranky this morning. Point being I don't like or t...

Re: NCAA Tournament to Be Played in Empty Arenas
Yeah, I am expecting it to be cancelled as well. Wyoming 3A/4A Basketball and Speech and Debate state events have been cancelled. With all the conference tourneys being cancelled, and then the insurance side I don't see it being played.

Re: New UW President: Edward Seidel
A good university president understands that athletics (specifically football & basketball) are the front porch of the university. Let's hope he understands that. I haven't looked real closely at his employment history, but hopefully he was at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign during the ...

Re: Matching Funds for West Side War and Pool
It's pretty sad that our legislature hasn't taken any of this seriously. We need to toll I-80, I think there was a study a few years back that determined over 90% of that traffic neither originates or ends in Wyoming. Toll it, and pass the buck on to the consumers who are using it to transport thei...

Re: Ready to be a P5 farm league?
The one thing I would like to see is some sort of anti-tampering rule in place somewhat like the professional leagues have. I don't want programs coming in and recruiting current players of other programs. Enter the transfer portal first then let recruiting commence. That may be how the rules are, I...

Re: How "screwed" should we really feel?
This is just the life of a G5 program. At program's like Boise State, holding onto a coordinator for 3 seasons means either 1) they got lucky af this time around or 2) this coordinator hasn't been convincing in this role. The financial gap in this sport is getting ridiculous. When it comes to bolti...

Re: How "screwed" should we really feel?
Was wondering to post this here or in the MSU/CU related thread. Having good coaches poached is the nature of college football. Mid to low level "P5" teams face it with their head coaches as well, and even sometimes though more rarely a top tier program will get a head coach head hunted b...

I think I know why Bohl likes him. :D Good article. Im optimistic about the hire. Seconded on the article, things in there give me reason to be optimistic as well. Sounds like he used his time after Wake Forest well. Welcome aboard coach and here is hoping you keep up the stifling D and maybe even ...

Re: MWC Finalizes $270M Media Rights Deal With CBS Sports, Fox
Overblown, when you think about it that 1.8 million would only be $150,000 to each school if it was spread out. That's not that big of a deal. Having Boise in the MWC is worth more than an extra $150K to each school. I get it, it's the principle of the matter. But no AD or President in the country ...

Re: Rocky interesting article
I'll give it two seasons before a MW coach complains about the Mountain Division being much stronger than the West Division. 2019 championship featured at best the 4th best MW team, 2020 might be worse. We might not have 2 divisions in future. The bsu fiasco might end up being more than just bsu le...

Re: Vigen has to go
Bohl makes his choices and the AD really shouldn’t have anything to do with it other than writing checks. That being said let’s not compare the two one has won three conference championships the other has won a potato bowl as his most significant program win. What is SDSU thinking? Also, Bohl is no...

Re: Rocky Long leaving SDSU
I think Long is 70 years old...I don't think it is about keeping him happy. I bet he is ready to scale back. *edit* Evidently folks are suspicious that he had some beef with the administration. My post was referencing Carr and his likely at least partially forced retirement not Long, although they ...

Re: Rocky Long leaving SDSU
Not the worst transition for SDSU, Hoke back in charge. If he can keep the success he had from his first HC stint, they will be a challenger every year. Hoke seems mediocre. He's got a career record of 78-72. He's not the coach Long is. That's for sure . Obviously a stupid move on SUDS part letting...

Re: Another example of how far MWC has come
How much have the bowl tie-ins really deteriorated? Since the Liberty Bowl, which was a notch above what we have now, it's all pretty much the same "meh" tie-ins in some quantity every year. I was thinking about this earlier today actually. I thought about when Wyoming was in the Las Vega...

Re: Vigen has to go
Josh was not accurate in HS or JC. The notion that our OC is somehow wrecking QBs is absurd. They don’t get all that much time with them. Right how does not being recruited to play D1 ball to being a first round draft pick in 3 years equal taking a player backwards? The theory of the more inaccurat...
