Re: MWC tourney seeding
I appreciate the optimism, but a 100% Larry Nance probably won't show up until Mid-November at the very earliest. Still could mean a good showing in the conference schedule, but the rest of the team will have to pick up the slack in the OOC.

weed doesn't bother me at all, i don't smoke it but what you put in your body is your business however a scholarship athlete doesn't really own his body...he's trading that for free tuition so the coach has the obligation to wriote and enforce rules concerning what the player does with the school's...

Whether or not it should be illegal or not is not the issue. It IS illegal, and he should know better. As a student athlete at the D1 level, he should be staying away from poop like that, anyways. Oh, and doing illegal drugs is not a "well, everyone does it so it should be ok" topic. It's...

maybe if we'd start paying our coaches(which were slowly starting to do) we wouldn't have to rebuild/reload every 5 years or so, gets old fast, or maybe our UW faithful enjoy medocrity Which isn't Burman's issue.. It's now up to the legislature to give athletics more $$. How about people start putt...

Odd move, if he didn't like sitting out this year, I wonder how he's going to like sitting out another year due to transfer rules. He must really like riding the pine. Hopefully he goes after a juco big who can play. Or a transfer player. It boggles my mind teams like CSU get big school transfers an...

Re: Nance having surgery March 5
I honestly think having a good PT is more important than the surgeon. ACL reconstruction is bread and butter for competent orthopedic surgeons and I have to think its kind of hard to f-word up these days. Much more important to have someone who knows what they're doing with the rehab. Now cartilage...

I didn't say I don't do things. I only got drank like three times before turning 21, and then only got drunk once. Never did drugs. I do speed all the time , and have been caught/ticketed a few times. We all have those flaws, it's human nature. Still have to hold people accountable. http://forums.w...

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see (and think there should be) a ban for players to have a twitter account as long as they are on the team. Just be up front when you recruit them, if that's a deal breaker then they can f$&@ off.

I'm curious if he tested positive in a drug test. NCAA lowered the minimum limit of THC from 15 nano grams per milliliter to 5 ng/ml. The significant part of this is some think that that low of a level could trigger a positive test from second-hand exposure. It was not from drug testing. This is no...

Re: Interesting chatter on a 5th year QB transfer
The biggest reason I see us needing a good QB is to keep defenses on their toes. Our O line isn't good enough (no matter how good our S&C program makes them) to run at a D knowing that our only option is to run the ball. Having said that, I like your optimism Lake, but there is no way our D can ...

Remember that at the combine you are running with no pads and gear. There is more to being game fast then just running, film can show that. Having said that, I'm not totally surprised, I never believe a high school or college player's 40 time unless it was at the combine. There is too much error/exa...

I agree with Ol Wyo, Pearl Harbor is a must. There is a very nice breakfast buffet at Duke's Waikiki located in the Outrigger Waikiki hotel. They actually include bacon which at most other places is an expensive add-on. If you are a hiker, head up to Manoa Valley just a few miles north of downtown, ...

Re: A little ACL education
Larry has insurance. He has to, it's an NCAA requirement. So while his dad/family will have to pay any deductible and Co-pay out-of-pocket, his insurance will cover most of the surgery unless it is out of network.

Steadman Hawkins in Vail is also very good, I know the Colorado Rockies send the majority of their surgeries to them.

Re: A little ACL education
How long do you think it usually takes to heal? ACLs are really tricky to pinpoint a timeline. A general range is 6-9 months. However there are extreme exceptions on both sides. Case in point, Terrell Owens had ACL surgery and was back in like 3-4 months. On the flip side, it took Derrick Rose 12-1...
