Re: Arena Auditorium funding speculation.

So, if those numbers are close to being true, then we need to get 16 million in the next 6 months. Off Topic Alert: This reminded me of something I heard when I was in grad school at Wisconsin. The former Chancellor of the university came to class and told us that his #1 job as chancellor was to ra...

Re: Semi OT: NFL dropping extra point?

I think this is a stupid idea. Leave the extra point and two point conversion alone. If it's so automatic, then maybe we can take it a little further. Whoever is favored in a game just automatically wins. No game necessary. For Christ's sake, play the freakin' game! Of course by this logic, Touchdo...

Re: Tweets on Bohl and Wyo football

Since Coach Bohl has already said they're going old school with the uniforms any discussion about alternate color combos is moot. He didn't exactly say "old school". He just said 2 uniform combos and that's it. As to what those 2 uniform combos will look like is completely up to debate. I...

Re: Semi OT: NFL dropping extra point?

If they want to make the PAT more interesting they should do it like rugby. Keep a TD as 6, but the PAT has to be spotted directly out from where the TD occurred. So if it's a fade to the corner of the end zone, the PAT is spotted at the 2 just inside the sideline...now that would make things intere...

Re: ACSs little brother might be a Bronco..

Wonder if he smokes as much weed as his brother. Maybe he should look at CSewe / Cewe. Great post! I'm sure none of the UW signees/verbals/recruits smoke weed on a regular basis. I'd much rather they stick to the alcohol and beer. Much healthier[/ b], causes very few public health problems, and is ...

Ummm...I wouldn't call Herron a great WR. He was good but not great. And Malcolm Floyd wasn't anything special at UW, didn't turn into a good WR until 2-3 years into his pro career.

So they're going to repeal the lottery? Once you get that headstrong group in Cheyenne to make up their minds on something it's usually pretty hard to reverse it.

Re: New Prez

It looks to me that once again, UW takes the path of least resistance and settles for the interim president because it is the easy thing to do..... "McGinity and his administrative team are working with Gov. Matt Mead and lawmakers to prepare for the Legislature’s 2014 budget session. The gove...

Re: Husker Hoops

Seating capacity of a team's home arena has a very poor correlation with program prestige/success. As is, the AA is actually in the top 25 seating capacities in the country when it comes to on-campus arenas. I think it's important to exclude off-campus arenas as these are often designed to be multi...

Re: Cowboys offer Malik Johns

Hell, the players he recruited at NDSU were good enough to get 17 points in the final AP poll of the season. If he continues to recruit the exact same players and coach them up the exact same and get us in the Top 30 within a few seasons...I call that pretty damn successful. Now if he gets even bett...

Re: Brett Smith is picked 6th.

Only surprise for me on that list is that Smith passed Tahj Boyd, a good QB on a strong ACC team is usually drooled over by media-types. Shows how strong Brett has been consistently. Also think that Aaron Murray would be higher than Brett if it weren't for his ACL injury.

Re: 2014 Spring Game?

UW puts up billboards every year. If Brett hadn't left I wouldn't be surprised if he was on some of them too. Since he's gone and we have no "face" of the program in the form of a player the OBVIOUS next choice would be the head coach. Especially the brand new head coach we just hired. Who...

I believe that Devyn Harris and Patrick Mertens have both been granted medical redshirts. What about Finley? He played 1 game then got hurt. Or do they apply for the red-shirt after their eligibility would have been done? In his case, after this coming season. Typically they wait until his normal e...

Re: Husker Hoops

We hear so much talk about not accepting mediocrity at the beginning of the football season, but I see reducing the A-A's maximum capacity down to a number (10-11K) that we should all agree is mediocre by our own standards as a structurally lowering our expectations. I have always thought of 10K as...

Re: Are all these bodybag games to pay for a facility or bud

I lean more towards promoting a new facility for the swimming team. While it is not a revenue generating sport, a new pool would do more than just benefit the UW swim team, it would also benefit Laramie and the state. A new, olympic-sized (if it's not 50-meters than don't bother) pool, with full div...
