Re: Rocky Long leaving SDSU

Brady Hoke has dismissed their Safeties coach, which is kind of odd considering that was a strength of theirs. But, think Bohl goes in and brings him on? We are short a safeties coach after all. No they aren't. Dickert is safeties coach. Aaron Bohl (took over LBs when Dickert moved to safety after ...

Leppke was brought in as a QB walk-on, I believe. He swapped to receiver to help the team/see the field. He transferred so he could be a QB again.
But then ended up being a WR anyway at his new school.

Re: Rocky Long leaving SDSU

Not the worst transition for SDSU, Hoke back in charge. If he can keep the success he had from his first HC stint, they will be a challenger every year. Hoke seems mediocre. He's got a career record of 78-72. He's not the coach Long is. That's for sure . True, he had 1 great season at Ball State an...

To be fair, no one else (me, you guys, media, etc.) caught it until after the season either.

Re: Nevada down by 3 scores to Ohio late in the 3rd...

I think everyone wants Championships. 8 wins is better than 3 or 4, but I want double-digit wins and championships just like everyone else. I also know that Wyoming is a very unique place, you can't win overnight here. If Nick Saban was hired in 2014, I don't think even he would have won a champions...

Re: Nevada down by 3 scores to Ohio late in the 3rd...

Great comparison 307, never really thought about the tie between Nebraska fans and Wyo fans, but there are some similarities... things are a lot tougher today. Doesn't mean UW can't be successful, but people need to learn that things are different today and the path to the top is different.

Re: Funny you should say that...

From the feel of some of our fanbase, Ohio is a perfect example of what we should be hoping for. 3 straight bowl wins and 11 seasons straight at .500 or better. How should NV be expected to compete with that type of juggernaut? The difference is if Wyoming is improving or regaining stagnant. Ohio h...

Re: The Great Debate Begins: Williams or Chambers?

If Williams does start, then we NEED to find a way to keep Chambers on the field and in a leadership role. Tight end Tight end would be an extreme waste of Sean's talents. He's not a blocker, so he wouldn't be on the field a lot, and best case scenario he would only touch the ball 5-6 times a game....

Will Williams be a freshman or a sophomore next year?

Did he play too many games to be a freshman next year?
He'll be a redshirt freshman. Only played in 3 games (CSU, Air Force and bowl game).

Re: Signing day....

103 - The number of receptions this season for the NCAA leader (Devin Duvernay - Texas)

109 - The number of receptions for the entire Wyoming football team.

Not the best recipe for enticing WR recruits.

Re: Another example of how far MWC has come

How much have the bowl tie-ins really deteriorated? Since the Liberty Bowl, which was a notch above what we have now, it's all pretty much the same "meh" tie-ins in some quantity every year. I was thinking about this earlier today actually. I thought about when Wyoming was in the Las Vegas Bowl (20...

Re: Another example of how far MWC has come

I don't agree with their bowl rankings, but it is very apparent that the MWC is no longer the best non-Power 5 conference. The AAC is significantly better this year and, I would argue, the last couple years. In fact, if you look at the RPI confernce ratings, the AAC is actually #5, ahead of the ACC ...

It would be great if they actually made money on this bowl appearance.
That'd be nice, but it'll probably be a stretch. Payout is only like $415K per team.

Re: A interesting question came up on an SEC Board

There is an effect with altitude. I remember the Colorado Rockies franchise saying something along the lines of the ball traveling 9% further at Coors Field versus sea level. 9% seems really high. That would mean a 300ft fly ball at sea level is going to turn into a 318ft homerun at Coors? I dont k...

Aranda says no

Aranda isn't a moron

He made $1 million more as a DC this year than Sanchez did as a head coach.
