Re: Texas tech game

I do remember my 1st drunk wyo game. FOCO, Ken Fantteti and the team captains got jumped by the entire ram team at the coin flip. Fantteti invented a new rodeo event: sheep tossing. 15 yard penalty on csu before the game started.

Things got a little weird after that.

Re: Border War Seating

Sit close enough to midfield so you can see Gibbs channel Ken Fantteti and toss sheep out of the scrum at coinflip. Best. Game. Ever. (We won, of course!)

Enjoy, yall!

Fun interview! Linder as football coach? Imagine the innovation in the passing game! Another dream I'll never see.

Is there a special category for ref's? Moose stubing had a special brand of malevolent incompetence.

Re: Border War....1987

Well hell. I'm old. Both great games for sure. But there're more! Either 78-79 or a year later, the beginning of the Brandenburg Ascendancy. Tubs, Garnett, Ollie and the rest, in the indoor rodeo arena on a portable court. Tubs took the PA to ask the crowd to quit throwing stuff - worse refs than Ra...

Re: UW @ U of A

I'd like to think Linder, the coaches and the athletes are resilient and mature enough to take the butt whipping as a learning experience, and be stronger for it in the long run. Seems like we had this discussion last year at least twice (SDSU), and we got our poop together soon after. Bottom line, ...

Re: Ike is the MW POTW

It'll be fun to watch Ike against Arizona. I expect he'll hold his own, and it seems he quickly absorbs lessons learned. If he's on his game, and not in foul trouble, and our three's are falling, we could take the W. Regardless, our guys are easy to root for.

I think I learned more basketball in this thread than I've ever known - thanks!

One thing I do know, this team is fun to watch!

Re: Denver University, Thursday, December 2nd, 7:00 p.m....Help turn the AA into the "Dome of Doom" again.

Watching this team grow last spring was way fun. This year's team seems more mature, but it looks like we've hit a plateau, where instead of all 5 executing our offense, it's easier to watch maldo create and then react. My vague recollection of northern colorado under Linder was that they screened ...

Re: Washington Huskies, Thursday, Nov 18....

We have potential for sure. It's rare we have solid players in all 5 spots - I've been pumped for this team since roughly last February, as it seemed we played better almost every game. Regardless, I want to see how we react to some adversity...coach has said we can lose to anyone in the MWC, esp if...

Re: Jake Dickert - HC Wazzu

A problem with Lander pokes'analysis is that 1905 was a time that the court took a very hands off approach in that individuals, especially rich white folk, were allowed carte Blanche to do as they pleased. Big business ruled. The feds were not allowed to do much that interfered with states or privat...

Ha! I've missed a career opportunity. I trained, a lot, just to be a bench warmer I should have been in quality control for long underwear.

Re: Did anyone go to the Cheyenne scrimmage?

I figured that scrimmages were for work on particular issues, like Dut's ability to see preferred options (check downs?) for passes on offense, or Ike's role with shooting 3's. It occurs to me that there is a level of precision to linders game plan, and the components need work. The next scrimmage s...

Hey OB, thanks for the links. As much as I'm enjoying football, I've been seriously jonesing for some hoop news, esp about our PG's. Good referrals!
