Re: COVID-19

The mortality rate on this is 3.2%. That is INCREDIBLY high for an infectious disease. The Spanish Flu mortality rate was 2%, and that killed 50 million people worldwide. So far in the US alone even with all of these orders to stay home it has killed off nearly the population of Laramie. That's a l...

Re: COVID-19

How do those boots taste? Every day they’re learning the infection rate is much higher and that means the hospitalization and death rates are magnitudes lower. But hey we put 20 million out of work to save a few thousand people. We’ve never made that trade before and never should. There’s barely a ...

Re: How are you doing?

Got furloughed on Friday. Unemployment should be a raise, though, so that's nice. I'm scheduled to go back to work on June 1. This has HAMMERED the tourism industry, which I work in. Our budget is looking like it will hit about 40% of projected.

Re: '20-'21 Poke Hoops Recruiting Watch

Linder and company are going to have a hellacious few years on the recruiting trail. Balancing classes on this team is going to take a while due to the mass exoduses we saw the past couple of seasons.

Re: Matching Funds for West Side War and Pool

Interesting timing for the University to request proposals for Construction Managers for Student Housing and Dining facilities The project will consist of 1,000 beds of freshman housing including programmatic support spaces and an 850-seat dining facility. The existing transit stop adjacent to the ...

Looks great, Mr. T! Thanks for keeping the board up so we can all have some semblance of sanity during all of this. (Well, as sane as we are normally at least)

On the plus side, Google Stadia kicks A$$! I've been playing the crap out of it for the past couple of weeks. I'm never buying another console. You obviously don't have a Switch. Nor do I need one. Wife wants to watch TV? Plug my controller into any laptop and go nuts! Bored in the airport? Hook th...

Re: How are you doing?

I work in tourism, so things aren't great at the moment. Luckily I'm considered essential to getting us back on track after all of this is over, so my job is safe. Industry wide this is a worst-case scenario. We were looking at a record year for tourism in Wyoming and Laramie County. The new state l...

Plus Brady could very well not be with the Pats next season...provided we have one.
He tweeted today that he's moving on. That division is WIDE open. Bills will definitely push for at least a wild card slot.

Re: Spring Football - Unlikely

A bit of speculation but - Look for an announcement likely tomorrow that UW will be going to online only instruction beginning Friday or so and perhaps for the remainder of the semester. Spring sports may still be played but expect that fans won’t be allowed in attendance. In light of this, I expec...

Re: Keep this team together!

Ha, this is ridiculous. Edwards is gone, he knows he's gone. At least the last 3 games were a nice cherry on top of the turd sundae that was this season. I think even if they had shocked the world and won the tourney, he STILL gets the boot. Totally on point. Let's think about what he's done while ...

Re: Matching Funds for West Side War and Pool

I'm against new taxes, but the math is pretty simple. If you expenditures exceed your revenue, you're gonna go broke. I believe you have a lot of good input and understanding. I also hate the idea of income and increased property taxes but fundamentally revenues have to be raised because mineral fu...

Re: Matching Funds for West Side War and Pool

It's pretty sad that our legislature hasn't taken any of this seriously. We need to toll I-80, I think there was a study a few years back that determined over 90% of that traffic neither originates or ends in Wyoming. Toll it, and pass the buck on to the consumers who are using it to transport thei...

Guess he was trying to play devils advocate..... but even doing that with this team and coach is ridiculous. If he really believes what he is typing he needs to quit and not write anymore. That article is living in major fantasy land. Edwards is gone after the year. Maybe Cody Tucker should be also...

New TV package negotiations delayed things a bit. Should be coming out mid-late March.

I think the doom and gloom is bit premature and overblown.
Totally agree. I saw a take on twitter that compared the knee-jerk reactions of this rule to the knee-jerk reactions from another rule from 1986; the addition of the 3 point line.
