Re: Graham Ike to miss 6-8 weeks with a lower leg injury.
This is my take as well...The transfers have completely been a bust. There was nothing there. In fairness to Linder...It's not like there were even any hot takes that this was the case before the season...everybody was projecting Wyo to be a top team in conference and a dark horse to make a run in ...

Re: UNLV
"You're not going to change unless you have the ability to find ways to get better defensively," Linder said. "The reality is, it's the same defensive scheme that allowed us to win 25 games last year. It's the same defensive scheme that allowed us to be in the Top-75 in the country de...

Re: Graham Ike to miss 6-8 weeks with a lower leg injury.
Ike was pre season player of the year. So I see nothing wrong with centering your entire offense around him. This isn't football. Having a player miss multiple seasons is unusual. Great post players don't grow on trees. Ike was irreplaceable. The real disaster, imo, is the lack of development of th...

Re: Graham Ike to miss 6-8 weeks with a lower leg injury.
I hope that Linder has learned his lesson that you don't put all your eggs in one basket. I understand that it is impossible to know if or when a player will be injured, but to hinge your entire season on one player is crazy. Linder's and Ike's teammates' comments, paired with the actual results on...

Re: Graham Ike to miss 6-8 weeks with a lower leg injury.
I believe he has another year (the COVID year) even if he plays this year....maybe even 2 years if I am counting right. I can't imagine entering the draft at this point without a full season to show scouts his durability. He could play for another 3 years at UW I believe. But I didn't expect him to...

Re: Graham Ike to miss 6-8 weeks with a lower leg injury.
I watched him pretty intently during warmups against CSU while he was grabbing rebounds underneath the rim. No boot and he didn't seem to have any hesitation on the foot. 11 games left. If he returns, and plays in the Pokes last ???? games, does that mean his career at WYO is over, and he moves ont...

Re: Wyoming Wrestling
Think about it this way. Like 90%+ of kids at least try basketball at some point in their lives, I would guess. The good ones stick with it, join leagues and end up playing. So out of 90%+ of a population you're going to capture the very best athletes. How many do you suppose even try hockey... eve...

Re: Graham Ike to miss 6-8 weeks with a lower leg injury.
There is chatter Ike could actually return this season. I am surprised. Would be cool to see us go on a major run with him back. I watched him pretty intently during warmups against CSU while he was grabbing rebounds underneath the rim. No boot and he didn't seem to have any hesitation on the foot.

Re: Jordan Turnbull
Mines has found a way to compensate pretty much most of the team despite the RMAC limit. The ‘academic’ and ‘merit’ scholarships are widely distributed. Now with the NIL collective, it’s a different world there too. I believe it, they've been solid for several years now. I imagine the biggest obsta...

Re: Wyoming Wrestling
I agree with your statement that it is a very down year for Wyo wrestling. However, these are not the NDSU and SDSU teams of past years. NDSU is #14 and SDSU is #16 in team dual rankings. For comparison, perennial power Oklahoma State is #12. Doesn't excuse UWs poor performance, but those schools a...

Re: Wyoming Wrestling
Wyoming gets demolished in 2 duals over the past few days. 3-32 to North Dakota State 3-42 to South Dakota State Only Cowboy to get a win was true freshman Jore Volk winning both his matches. What a terrible downturn for Wyoming wrestling. We used to smoke SDSU and NDSU regularly. Worst Wyoming team...

Re: Jordan Turnbull
Half rides are common in D2 for highly thought of players. An equivalent of 36 full scholarships can be awarded for football in D2. Community/collectives are also starting to fill the gap. I know Mines (national runner up this year) has been proactive in filling the gap. Oh definitely, I was just s...

Re: Border War
WTF. Why the fandom and miserableness arguments. We finally have something to cheer about!!! We actually put a team on the floor today that gave a damn and the fans actually showed up today too!! I was worried we wouldn’t win a game. But guys like Noh Reynolds, Nate Barnhart and Ethan Anderson playe...

Re: Jordan Turnbull
Remember, a D2 scholarship offer could be as small as "we'll cover books but you pay the rest". Full rides at the D2 level are rare. So if it's between a grand or two at D2 or walk- on at D1, screw it. Half rides are common in D2 for highly thought of players. An equivalent of 36 full sch...

Re: Remainder of Season Outlook
This is the first time in many years that I don't watch the game after I get the tip off notification. Ike was a big part of the team and losing him hurts but I'm not sure how many more games we'd win with him here. This team just looks bad. Odd considering Reynolds huge leap and what we'd thought ...

Re: Jordan Turnbull
So... If he's on scholarship.... Good decision... If he's walk on or preferred walk on.... Bad decision.... Do I have that right? Yeah, seems about right to me. Usually the best decision is to take the scholarship So when your options are CSU-Pueblo scholly and Wyoming walk-on - never bet on yourse...

Bills. But pulling for a Logan to have a good game. This may be one of the best opportunities for a Bills Super Bowl.

Re: Jordan Turnbull
If he had other scholarship offers from "lesser" schools...why do a preferred walk-on at Wyoming? Would he not see more playing time at those other places? Asking based on discussions that painted Talich's decision to play at ND as a bad decision. Isn't this a double standard? lol it's no...
