Re: Watched a little of the Okie State Tulsa game earlier

4, 5, 6, 7 yard slant routes with some YAC opportunities. Where the hell are those plays? I put more of the offensive woes on the play calling and coordinator than anything. Just my dime. yes. Why are we not using the middle of the field? Why no use of the TEs? Why not try a screen? Why not pass it...

Re: Watched a little of the Okie State Tulsa game earlier

“If Wyoming is as bad at passing as stated I'm guessing we load the box and let our DB's handle the recievers one- on-one? We could really shut them down if they don't have any really good recievers. ” Chambers not being a good passer is hurting us but not having a reciever that anybody would ever ...

Re: Idaho game

Meh...0-star recruits or 5-star recruits...it only matters what happens on Saturdays. If you had no idea what any recruiting ranking was coming into college...what would you say the Wyoming WR were? 5 Star recruits turn into good players more often than 0 Star ones. The star ratings don't say who t...

Re: Idaho game

Needing to work on the passing game is an understatement. Needing to reconsider the entire passing scheme, the starting recievers, the qb mechanics, and the entire practice and training strategy around it is more like it Considering our receivers are easily the most talented group recruiting-wise, ...

Unbelievable. Just shitty preparation.
Well maybe, or maybe not, Bohl is understanding that when your prime runner is out and you don't have a passing QB (like AFA has in a run oriented offense) then you are screwed. The Pokes are screwed.
Who is out?

Amazed you guys keep forgetting about Ryan Yarborough from the 1990s!!!!!
Yup ... Yarborough/Harris = Best all time at Wyoming...i'm just looking at the last 20 years though. Definitely want a guy like those two but that may be asking too much :)

Re: Where are the WR's?

What is up with the current WR talent? I know there is a sentiment of among some that the only thing wrong with this offense is the OC, but our WR's just are not great. What happened to "WR U"? I know we don't throw it around like we did in the '90s but we need a Boughknight/Floyd/McGuffey/Gentry t...

Re: Where are the WR's?

How do we have any evidence that we don't have good WR? Kinda hard to determine that when we don't throw to them and when we do, many are off target.... I guess the evidence is mostly eye-test ... I think Conway is the best of the current crop and he might not make the top 15 from the last 20 years...

Re: Where are the WR's?

We don't have sticky hands on our offense? Did you miss the insane one-handed grab by our 6'7 freshman? That was a great catch... Also not from a WR. I think he's a TE. Please understand.. I'm not saying that these guys are bums. I'm saying that our WR corps is among the least impressive WR groups ...

Re: Where are the WR's?

Our WRs are among the most highly rated recruits that we get. I don't think it's a lack of talent, but instead the "offense" that we run combined with coaching. Shocking I would say this, I know. I'm talking about the eye test...rankings are great but the rubber meats the road on Saturdays. The guy...

Re: Idaho game

I don't think mismatch games like this tell us very much.... Unless there is an upset. You either blow out a team that your supposed to blow out, or you kind of sleepwalk to an uninspired victory... Either way it's hard to extrapolate anything from these games. Teams don't run the score up like they...

Re: Fire Vigen

Here is what it comes down to....At this point, the cost of replacing Vigen seems to be that Bohl would be gone as well. This means "Fire Vigen" is synonymous with a replacement of the current program leadership. I believe reasonable people can weigh the sputtering offensive output against an overal...

Re: Fire Vigen

These threads are so god damn repetitive. One side has made their reasons for disliking Vigen clear, the other side has made their reasons for sticking with it clear. To date, no one has read a post and changed their mind on the matter. I think at this point people need to either; a) accept that pe...

Re: Fire Vigen

If some progress in QB is the only benchmark, then, yeah, Vigen is adequate. Wentz had throwing mechanic issues and Josh had footwork issues coming out. Most articles about Josh's NFL development are not at all positive regarding his college development. Identifying talent isn't the same as develop...

Re: Fire Vigen

Isn't it obvious to folks that there is not some mile-high wall between offensive style and defensive numbers? If you are a coach like Mike Leach...you are ok with exposing your defense to more chances by the opposing offense because you are confident that your offense has some sort of advantage tha...
