Re: Slow Starts on Defense

I don't think Dickert is accurate at all when he says Wyoming was a bend, don't break, defense the last two years. That's not Hazelton's style at all.

Re: Fire Vigen

People may not like it, but I think Bohl fully supports calling very conservative plays on the first two drives, to hopefully establish physicality (which won't be evident until later in the game), and read how opposing defenses are going to play against certain base formations. Play calling after t...

Re: A growing threat to Football

An interesting thought I've heard, but honestly have no idea if backed up by evidence... I've heard that professional rugby has fewer concussion issues than fotball (don't know if true). And one theory is that because they don't wear helmets or even pads, all players have learned to tackle and play ...

Re: Vigen-Bohl relationship question

Vigen was at NDSU when Bohl started head coaching there, and so has been part of Bohl's staff for 15 years, since 2003.

Re: Last 4 Games...

I think Bohl and OL coach Fuchs think they can build and develop o linemen. But what's really weird to me in year 5, is how many underclassmen, especially freshmen, are starting on the line. Never saw more than 1, and usually an upcoming star, while they were at NDSU. They've really missed the mark ...

Re: Bohl: “We need to look at personnel changes”

This off season (assuming no mid-season surprise) will be a very interesting one to see what Bohl does. Given that Vigen has been Bohl's OC for 8 or 9 seasons straight now, will he cut bait? I am guessing he views (or viewed) Vigen as a successor and protege.

Re: Bohl: “We need to look at personnel changes”

What moves can he make? QB, WR? He’s not going to make moves at TE, online, or running back. Well, you can change players, but if you still run a predictable offense not sure it changes much . And who are you going to change to? If there are better players on the bench you're either an idiot or a t...

Re: What do you think going forward?

Bohl won't be getting rid of Vigen and I don't think it would matter. I read on the other board something about during the broadcast of the Hawaii game the announcers said they had asked Bohl about going with a more finesse style offense, and he said something like it would be a travesty if he chan...

Re: WYOMING @ New Mexico State - Guess the Score

Good win on the road, late, last few seconds FG POKES get er done 31-27 That is a really high predicted score for two teams known for their defenses and both starting brand new QBs. Not saying it won't happen but that prediction is going out on a limb. 48 of the 58 points predicted might be from de...

Re: Allen

My gut says this doesn't change his draft position one bit, although times are insanely stupid on the politically correct side these days. I will say this, show me the team that does drop him down or off their list over this, and they will be one of those teams that have no real clue what they're re...

Re: Rams Get a Naming Rights Sponsor

Wyoming needs to do this and bad. With the money's starting to dry up there is more of a need now than ever. Personally I think it should have been done long ago. Think this has been suggested before... Welcome to Taco Johns stadium, featuring the Taco Tuesday Scoreboard, and the official Potato Ol...

Side note: I don't think this board should be a place to throw out poop and see what sticks (ergo, being eager rumor mongers). But that is just my dime, from experiences posting information in the past that was just that - rumor. I learned a few lessons along the way, and don't mention much, until ...

Re: I stand corrected.

Unfortunately our O is not conducive to prepping a qb for the NFL. Josh is there because of his physical gifts. Read the scouting reports. Our abysmal offense is used to explain low production and potential inaccuracy issues. In other words, our O was much more a handicap to Josh. Hoping Spleight c...

Re: Allen: Stay, NFL, or P5 Team?

Carson Wentz was injured at the midpoint of his senior season, and came back for one game, the fcs championship. His return and performance in that game, which he decisely won, kicked off his elevation from high round draft pick to top two pick. He did have to continue to back it up at senior bowl, ...

Tanner Gentry with 1 catch for 8 yards against the Panthers. Trubisky only threw three 7 passes entire game. I believe first NFL catch for Tanner.
