Re: 12 Team Playoff

Agree, but if they put each conf champ into the playoff then would the effects be? The resources, good players, etc. would be spread out much more rather than concentrated in the P5. Would benefit everyone and we would have greater parity, which fans love. I do get that and maybe you're right. I pe...

Re: 12 Team Playoff

Unpopular opinion, but I don't think there are many years where beyond 1 G5 team deserves to be in a playoff. I understand the theory behind allowing all conference champs in, but practically, there just aren't that many good G5 times each year. The numerous other factors have created a much greater...

Re: Is inflation going to send us into depression?

So we're going to ignore the science and go with crazy conspiracy theories instead? Cool... Covid science Actually, I'll see if I can go back and find it but there was an excellent research article that modeled several viruses and highlighted that viruses just don't jump species and run. They typic...

Re: Is inflation going to send us into depression?

Add in the fact that it is looking more and more like COVID was engineered and we may have been in bed with China on it. Holy crap. The fallout from this could be catastrophic. My concern about this is that if the absolute facts comes out that China did, in fact, create the COVID virus and Joe Bide...

Theoretically do you think that makes stronger recruiting classes for the G5 this year?

Re: Is inflation going to send us into depression?

Good topic for discussion. There are so many "issues" right now - that have no answers (just speculation) that it is truly concerning. Since when did we as a (pick one: culture, people, nation, community) start to accept "trillions" being the norm for governmental spending? Ridi...

We talked about the impacts of super seniors...

Going to be interesting.

If you don't want to read it, discusses challenges of the other thread (NIL), transfer rules, and now the extra year of eligibility for COVID.

Crazy year for sure.

Re: What affect do you think Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) will have on college athletics?

I think the biggest change will be to the high school recruits and the G5. I don't know how much it will shift, but I could see the P5 holding out more scholarships each year in order to hit the transfer portal. The P5 may have even more lure by being able to recruit transfers based upon the amount ...

CFN Preview

Thoughts? For a ball control offense that grinds other teams down, the second half point differential seems surprising.

Re: What affect do you think Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) will have on college athletics?

That in combination with the new transfer era will transform college football for the worse. I get it and support the student athletes but it won't be better for the sport. It'll certainly be better for some individuals who can capitalize on it. They should have a right to do so. Students working/vo...

Re: After 1 year of college athletics, any heart cases?

Really, it just looks like a cute myocarditis observed in several viruses and even after vaccinations in some cases. COVID acute myocarditis rates might even be lower than some other more common viruses.
My guess is that's why it went away.

https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/31275391/study-shows-less-1-covid-infected-college-athletes-developed-heart-issues This was studied. Covid apparently caused myocarditis in 0.7% of athletes. Is 0.7% an acceptable rate? I don't know. Seems that the protocols worked for those 0.7% by la...

After 1 year of college athletics, any heart cases?

At the start of reopening college athletics, the chicken littles were screaming about heart risks and COVID.

I haven't heard much about it since then. Did the experts miss on their dire predictions or did the media stop reporting on it?

Is inflation going to send us into depression?

Anyone else not believing that this inflation is temporary or that the fed has it under control? In my opinion, you better buckle up. I don't think inflation is temporary and is a runaway train. I think the Fed's hands are tied and can't raise interst because of valuations and servicing our dept. I'...

Re: Spring Football Game Thoughts?

From reading articles, it sounds as if accuracy is still a bit of a concern with our top 2 QBS. I know Josh Allen, but I worry about how much improvement in accuracy can be made in a relatively short amount of time in the college ranks. Definitely something to keep an eye on Saturday. Hopefully the...

Spring Football Game Thoughts?

Anyone going? It'll be interesting to see who claims the 3rd string QB spot by fall. I certainly hope the QB injuries are not a problem, but lately, the 3rd string QB has been needed as backup. I guess not a trivial position battle as insurance in case something happens again this year. I'm also not...
