Re: First Realignment rumor of the 2020s

My prediction is that this is step 1 in contraction. TV partners might facilitate this to make it happen faster. SEC will be at 16. Baylor, Okstate, Tech and KState to Pac12 for 16. (2 AZ teams, CO, and UT combine with these for the east division and rest are west division). Iowa State and Kansas to...

ESPN's most stable program is....

WYO! Bohl has definitely put the program on stable ground.

Re: First Realignment rumor of the 2020s

Crazy how many people think they know which way this is going to go. I'm completely guessing, obviously, in my posts above. The huge changes make this impossible to predict where it will end up and how fast. So many unknowns: 1) Impact of new transfer rules (don't underestimate this relative to scho...

Re: Biden!

I try to stay away from looking at the Dow - S&P - Nasdaq - etc., but my real concerns right now are 3-fold (primarily - amongst others): 1. Inflation 2. Workforce (not necessarily unemployment figures either) 3. International affairs All three of those are lining up to be a "perfect storm...

Re: First Realignment rumor of the 2020s

This is interesting to me. Ragtime, would you say that there is already an informal or "soft" second tier? By this, I mean that in a technical sense...the MWC and the SEC both compete at the FBS level. That would seem to imply some sort of even access to all of the resources that contribu...

Re: First Realignment rumor of the 2020s

I'm thinking this isn't expansion but rather contraction when all is said and done. You can argue until you're blue in the face about which teams. Obviously, WYO won't be at the big boys table. The most likely debate, imo, isn't who gets called up to the big boy table but who gets demoted to the kid...

Re: Home Opener vs. Montana State

What gives? Folks over at bobcatnation.com discussing purchasing tickets and where in the stadium would be the best deals. I noticed this: Pokes opened 2019 at home against Missouri and didn't sell out. https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401110728 Attendance: 26,037 Capacity: 29,18...

Re: Name you don't know but will...

I'm hopeful we see one of the TEs break out with awesome receiving numbers. To me they've always seemed the most underutilized guys on the team. I don't expect us to suddenly be one of the most productive passing offenses in the MW, but there's plenty of room for improvement. I was wondering about ...

Name you don't know but will...

Do you have any picks for someone that you haven't heard much about, but is poised for a huge year? To qualify, player must not have seen the field much if at all, yet, by year's end, must be in talks for 2nd team all-conference at minimum. Tall order, I know, but just stepping from unknown to start...

Re: Home Opener vs. Montana State

Here’s to a great game. Watch as Vigen’s QB throws for 450 yards lmao  In all seriousness, I think he'll be much better HC than OC. Still, 450 yards passing from a Vigen-influenced offense would be hilarious and mind blowingly frustrating (other than that means we'd probably be on the ropes).

Interesting tidbit. If Bohl goes 9-3 this year he will be at the .500 mark for his time at WYO.

Re: Most accomplished WYO sport in past decade?

Wrestling and it’s probably not particularly close. Volleyball, womens soccer, women’s basketball, men’s basketball (Nance Jr.), football (2016) have all had a good season or two but wrestling has consistently been a top 25 program. I can’t say that I’ve followed swimming much but I don’t recall to...

Most accomplished WYO sport in past decade?

I admit that as life has gotten busier, I haven't paid close attention to other UW sports. I know, I know, I'll try to do better :D .

Anyway, since it is the offseason, what do you think is the most accomplished sport at UW in the past decade and why? Women's bball? Wrestling? Football?

Re: Way too early W/L Football Prediction Thread

If Nouriel Roubini is right about stagflation coupled with a debt crisis, we could be facing very serious times. Not just at WYO. Now is the time to adjust spending for razor thin state revenues; plan for the worst at least for the short-term.

Re: NIL - Wyoming

It'll be interesting to see if more kids stay in school. Obviously it won't matter to those with talent to go in the early rounds of the draft, but some of those kids that are predicted to go late in the draft might think about it. A rookie NFL contract is still better than most endorsement deals th...

Re: CRT

I pretty much agree with Asmodeanreborn. The thing I notice is that it fails to describe all of historic racism and focuses on pieces to fit a narrative = indoctrination. It fails to discuss Indigenous slavery prior to arrival of Europeans. It fails to discuss Indigenous and other underrepresented g...

Re: NIL - Wyoming

Good questions. I'm not fully opposed to this because I can see the upside for the student athletes. However, there is obviously a pretty significant downside. I don't think it will matter what states or conferences say. This is a case of get on board or be left behind. I'm not sure how detrimental ...
