Re: Let’s go!!

I wonder how they handle AF? There really aren't any open weekends and AF plays Army Nov 7, that means someone in the MWC isn't playing that day either. At least they wouldn't be playing a MWC game.

Will some teams have 7 conference games and some teams have 8? Anxious to see the schedule.

Re: MWC Exploring 8 Game Fall Season

Right. How many CU students have been seriously ill? I really do want to see some numbers on that. How bad is it really going to be at the end of all these colleges getting it over with? Let's just get it over with. I think I read there's been a single ICU case and he's since been recovered and rel...

Re: MWC Exploring 8 Game Fall Season

I'm betting the vote happens tomorrow and on track to play. Thank goodness! My two biggest fears: 1) Outbreak totally disrupts the attempted season 2) I'm really nervous about injuries with no spring ball and just a few weeks of practice before games. I hope most of the guys have been staying in foo...

Re: Anybody have a good link for the Bills game? Josh has been tearing it up.

I haven't paid much attention to the NFL this year, but I definitely watch for Josh Allen replays and stat lines. I didn't watch the game, but from the highlights, man, those are some GREAT deep throws. I couldn't be happier for the kid especially with all the naysayers. I hope he keeps this momentu...

Re: This is a graveyard! Who's ready for MWC football??

I think realistically, we'd be looking at 6 or 7 games max with the championship held on the 19th. Agreed that it sucks compared to a normal season, but I would prefer it to a spring season (which I'm actually more in favor of just cancelling). I'm not sure how the TV contract would work, but no rev...

Re: This is a graveyard! Who's ready for MWC football??

It's going to happen (prediction--no inside info). The spring idea is stupid. The logistics and disruptions are damn near insurmountable. A short fall season is MUCH better, and, really, cancellation entirely is better than a spring season. If you start near the end of Oct, most schools aren't letti...

Re: MWC Exploring 8 Game Fall Season

What's the deal with us following the B1G? We cancelled as soon as they cancelled. We attempt restart plans when they announce restart plans.

I'm not complaining at all and glad there is momentum towards playing this fall. I'm just wondering why the B1G link (at least it seems that way)?

Re: MWC Exploring 8 Game Fall Season

This is great! The MWC NEEDS to make this happen. We have the opportunity to be the only conference playing in the West. This is awesome! If things improve enough, line up "bowl games" against the top end of the AAC. Example: teams 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, and 4 vs 4. Highest ranked #1 hosts, then al...

Re: We have a lot of players in the NFL - why haven't we had more success?

It still takes a complete team to beat bsu. The years our offense produced, our defense was just ok. The years our defense has been good, our offense struggles. We might have a decent run game but lack a passing threat. Etc. etc. Incomplete teams can have decent seasons just not great seasons. The o...

Re: Spring Season: Do we get home games

This really sounds as if there is 0 appetite to try to get football going this fall.... https://themw.com/news/2020/9/8/general-update-on-the-status-of-mountain-west-sports.aspx Not surprising. If B1G starts by October, that leaves us and the PAC. If by then CFB is being played with only minor hiccu...

Re: Spring Season: Do we get home games

I doubt a spring season happens. The MWC should have stuck with fall football and they will be regretting their decision if they even attempt to play in Spring. Just a side note on the IPF, from a kicker: There are no goal posts in the IPF, just a net with lines to represent the goal post spacing. ...

Re: Nope, can't do it...

It should have been a school decision not a conference decision. If the entire conference votes yes, then the conference season can proceed. If a conference is split, all teams voting yes play a fall season against in conference and OOC teams that voted yes. Teams that vote no, can play in the sprin...

Spring Season: Do we get home games

If Spring Season is to be wrapped up by April, that means we start somewhere in Jan/Feb. Terrible times for outdoor football in Laramie. Damn near unrealistic. Do you think we have home games? If so, no fans at the IPF? We could have lobbied this year for a weather exemption to go our own way this f...

Navy must royally suck. I couldn't bear to watch it, but I may be desperate enough to watch BYU 6 weeks from now. Screw BYU
This about Navy and screw byu. Not sure on the watching :D

Not watching those pukes from Utah. Season gets canceled and byu turns out to be the most rationale team in the West???

It's like a damn nightmare. Unfreakingbelievable!

Yikes.

Getting back to playing will help, but overall state budgets probably look even worse next year in most Western states. Tough times ahead for anything that relies on tax money.

Re: Air Force

Wyoming could be practicing now too if they wanted, nothing says they can't practice even if they aren't playing games. I wonder what Bohl's plan is regarding starting practices again? I would imagine he's weighing burning them out (i.e. low contact practices and no games) with taking full advantag...

Re: 90% of COVID Tests Might be Wrong

I don't know what the stated sensitivity, specificity, PPV, or NPV on these tests really are, but it sounds like they could have pretty crappy specificity if the above article is true. I think they are actually pretty good if the results are interpreted in the proper range. In other words, at cycle...
