Re: UDFAs
Crum and Gibbs have a legit shot at making the practice squads.

Re: Draft
I saw that Solomon Byrd got drafted but did not see any other former UW players who transferred who did.
It seems clear that if you want to get drafted your best bet to enter the transfer portal after a couple of years playing for any g5 team

Re: Spring Game Cancelled
I wonder who made the decision but it should not have come as a complete surprise. There has not been a lot of effort to hype the game in the Cheyenne market. If it was not for this board and 7220 I would not have even known it was scheduled. Honestly, it is almost like they did not even try to gene...

And some new safeties. A healthy productive Von Miller would be nice as well.

Re: How do you feel about the QB position
I've seen the kid throw and am with you. Feel bad for him. I thought he was better. A few almost hoping he'd fail because they don't like me. The staff put him at 4 for a reason. We'll see if the qb gurus are right and we're sitting on the next #1 draft pick. I missed on May at WYO so we'll see if ...

Re: Pokes Insider
I think there are obvious differences but also realize I'm on an island on this one. Maybe I'm wrong but we have differences in opinion. I think something stinks and everyone else thinks everything is awesome. We've hashed and rehashed so I'll leave it at that Anybody think everything is awesome?.....

Re: Is Josh Allen EVER going to make it to the Super Bowl???
While sorry to see Diggs and Davis go but it was time. Davis dropped more than few catchable balls but was a very good blocker for a wideout. His price tag was going to be more than Buffalo could carry this season. Diggs played well and was constant threat but he is getting older and would need to r...

Re: How do you feel about the QB position
There is no doubt that offering Svoboda out of Snow College was a major gamble. It was a reach, and 98% of the time, those don’t pan out. Hopefully he is an outlier. I’m not sure any tape from HS or JUCO is really relevant to the player Svoboda is today. Our best metric for making any predictions i...

Re: Sawvel to open up practice
Coach Sawvel sees very different from coach Bohl. Players seem to love him. Hope the culture of hard work and discipline doesn't erode over time. That’s actually my worry too. Talking with him, he almost seems too nice and down to Earth. The days of tyrant coach have been numbered for sometime, eve...

Re: Sawvel to open up practice
Bohl started Peasley because Peasley had more experience and came to Wyoming when Bohl desperately needed a quarterback. Peasley played despite being injured and was leader so Bohl stayed with him.

Re: How to End NIL?
I view NIL as opening up a very real possibility of players who are playing in a school's uniform but actually employed by a different entity or person. My prediction is things will get a lot messier for several years before anyone really figures out what needs to be done.

Re: Semi-OT:long distance Amtrak
Passenger rail in the west died in the 1970's for a reason. And nothing has really changed. It's why Amtrak only exists with massive government subsidy. - Cars are cheaper and faster - Planes are about the same price and much faster - The rail lines are built for freight and suck to travel on over ...

Re: Jay Sawvel named head coach
I love the idea of the coach lifting together with the players. It builds team unity and and an understanding that the work is expected from everyone.

Re: How to End NIL?
Interesting scenario. At one point, I think some of the highest paid individual athletes in terms of NIL were actually female. Gymnasts I think. But I suspect most of this money came from outside collectives. Correct that a gymnast from LSU was a high earner. But the aggregate of funds is nowhere c...

Re: Semi-OT:long distance Amtrak
That was the Treagle Train, sponsored for one game a year by the Cheyenne Tribune and Eagle newspapers. Before my time being old enough to join that rolling party. I guess there were guys too drunk by the time they got to Laramie to make it to the game. With newspaper economies being what they are ...
