Last week was a good week for Lost Wages Thursday as we were two for two with our bets. The challenge bet rolls on after Mississippi State easily handled\u00a0K-State on the road. Then Iowa eventually cruised to a win over in-state rival Iowa State after a slow start. With more data points (games) we can make better observations and thus better picks. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come. It should be mentioned though that the odds given in this blog are extremely\u00a0early in the week and should only act as a starting point for our chosen bets. The Mississippi State odds actually improved over the week and by waiting until game day we were able to bet at a better price. Always take this into consideration when making bets but be careful because odds don’t only improve they can also get worse. Use your judgment\u00a0and monitor the lines up to kick-off. We are now ready to give you our first underdog pick of the season. The UAB Blazers host the Tulane Green Wave this weekend and are four-point\u00a0underdogs. UAB has won seven consecutive home games since the program’s rebirth\u00a0while Tulane only had one road win last season against a sad sack East Carolina team.\u00a0 The Blazers should come through at home outright but we will take the points just to be safe.<\/p>\n

The $10 to $100 challenge pot is up to $17.13 with the Mississippi State win over Kansas State. This week’s bet has been carefully picked for value and the Miami Hurricanes are that pick. They will travel to Toledo for an odd road game after hosting the Rockets in Miami last season. In that game, the Hurricanes won 52-30 and they should have more than enough to win yet again this time in Ohio. Toledo is coming off a bye week after their season-opening\u00a0blowout of VMI so the level of competition rises quite a bit for the Rockets.<\/p>\n
