The Cowboys open the 2017 season in Iowa City versus the Hawkeyes\u00a0of the Big 10. Iowa is coming off an 8-5 record and a loss to Florida in the Outback Bowl. This will be Wyoming’s third meeting against Iowa and the Cowboys have a 0-2 record with losses coming in 1987 (Holiday Bowl) and 1953 (a loss in Iowa City).<\/p>\n
September 9th Gardner-Webb<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\nFCS outfit Gardner-Webb comes to Laramie for the home opener. The Bulldogs went 5-6 last season in the Big South and this will be the first meeting between the schools.<\/p>\n
<\/h4>\nSeptember 16th Oregon<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\nWyoming will host the Oregon Ducks and new head coach Willie Taggart. The Ducks are coming off a very poor 4-8 season and this could be a winnable home game for the Cowboys. These will be the second football game between the two schools with Wyoming dropping a game 48-14 in Eugene during the 2014 season.<\/p>\n
November 4th Colorado State<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\nThe Gem City will host the 109th edition of the Border War in early November. The Cowboys will be looking to win the Bronze Boot for a second time in a row in a traveling trophy series the Brown & Gold now lead 25 to 24.<\/p>\n
