Over the past two years a total of 10 players have earned scholarships after attending the individual camp, so look for a few future Pokes to come out of this camp and commit to Wyoming somewhere down the line as recruiting season ramps up late this summer and early this fall.

These camps both in and out of Laramie have proved to be a valuable asset to Coach Bohl and his staff helping bring talent into the Cowboy football program. Winning football games certainly helps attracting talent but in the absence of wins Wyoming must rely on their recruiting “profile” and have their coaching staff build relationships with players. The staff has done this well of late in Oklahoma where the Oklahoma City camp has become very important helping the Cowboys establish themselves in Oklahoma high school football recruiting circles.

Without a large population base in the state of Wyoming, the football program must recruit on a national basis. The reverse of the satellite camp ban is great news for the Cowboys as they can continue to cultivate relationships in Oklahoma and make more in roads in talent rich California.

Thanks to magic of Jim Harbaugh and his khakis, the NCAA ban on satellite camps has been lifted.
