Wingard, the true freshman from Arvada, CO was one of six players from the Group of Five to find themselves on the team.<\/p>\n<p>Wingard led the Cowboys with 122 tackles this past season. That number ranked him 12th in the nation and second in the Mountain West. He averaged 10.2 tackles per game. He also averaged 6.9 solo tackles per game, good enough for fourth in the country, first in the Mountain West. He was also responsible for 7 tackles for loss and an interception.<\/p>\n<p>Wingard was the first freshman in Wyoming history to exceed 100 tackles in a season.
