Let’s look at a few of the most successful Cowboys NFL careers and their top prospect for the 2020 NFL draft.

It goes without saying that Josh Allen is the most famous Wyoming Cowboy in the NFL right now. But he has grown leaps and bounds over the last year.

He went form 2,074 yards with 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season to 3,089 passing yards with 20 touchdowns on 9 INTs. His QB rating improved from 67.9 to 85.3. So, it’s safe to say that he’s learning how to be an NFL QB. But, when all is said and done, the proof is in the puddin’. And Josh Allen led the Bills to a 10-6 season – it would have been 11-5 but the Bills rested up for their playoff game– and challenged the Patriots for the division for the first time in a very, very long time.

The Pats are on their way out, and the Buffalo Bills on their way up. With Josh Allen’s sophomore year being so much better than his rookie season, we can only assume that he’ll be even more consistent in 2020 and perhaps even lead the Bills to their first AFC East title win since the mid-90s.

Mike Purcell

Mike Purcell missed some time between 2016 and 2019, but he just completed his 4th season in the NFL – after playing his first game in 2014– and he’s on the rise. In his first year at Denver, he fit right into Fango’s defensive scheme and pulled out a career-high 48 tackles and 20 assists.

After three years with the 49ers, Purcell bounced around from practice squad to practice squad, The Rams, the Bears, the Panthers, and the Pats. In 2019 he joined the Salt Lake Stallions, with all options having run out at the NFL level. But in April of 2019, he got picked up by Denver. The 28-year-old Nose Tackle seems to have found his niche with the Broncos. Let’s hope his productivity stays high, and the Broncs keep him on board!

Chase Roullier

Chase currently plays for the Washington Redskins. He went to Burnsville High just south of Minneapolis before coming into the University of Wyoming and getting drafted by the Skins in the 6th round of the 2017 draft.

He was immediately inserted into the rotation over in Washington. As a rook, he played thirteen games, even starting in seven of those. The only reason he didn’t play in all 16 was that he injured his hand. After Spencer Long took off as a free agent, Chase Roullier became the starting center. He played in all 16 games in 2018 and started each and every one. In 2019, he remained No. 1 on the depth chart but missed two games because of a knee injury.

Logan Wilson

Wyoming’s star Line Backer is not on the NFL Props Odds to go in the top ten of the 2020 draft, but that’s okay. Less expectation means less pressure and often, a longer career. Most expert NFL picks have Chase Young, the star edge rusher out of Ohio State going No. 1 in the upcoming draft.

Logan has been a beast during his career at Wyoming. He finished 2019 with 105 total tackles, 62 of which were solo. He is a team player. A legitimate team-first guy, that is why many think he might gain the eye of a coach like Jon Gruden. At 6’2, 250 pounds, he is the type of player that can fly around the field and fill many roles. He is a guy who would help a team like the Raiders out at ILB because he has great hand technique and is incredible at solo tackling in the open field.

The bottom line is because he comes from a ‘small school’ he’s been overlooked. But he is one of the most productive LBs in college football. He has 428 total tackles during his career at Wyoming and the football IQ to excel at the next level.
