The Mountain West conference announced this morning that the Wyoming Cowboys (8-4, 6-2) will host the San Diego Aztecs (9-3, 6-2) in the Mountain West Football Championship Game. Wyoming earned this honor by ranking higher than the Aztecs in the composite computer poll rankings. The game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 3 at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie with kickoff is set for 5:45 p.m. MT and will be televised by ESPN.

Both schools are coming off heavy defeats with Wyoming falling on the road to New Mexico 56 – 35 while the Aztecs fell at home 63 – 31 at the hands of Colorado State. The game will be a rematch of the game played in Laramie just one week ago where Wyoming won 34-33 defending a San Diego State two-point conversion with no time left on the clock.

This is Wyoming’s first appearance in the Mountain West Championship Game and the Aztecs will be playing in the game for the second time, after winning the championship in the 2015 edition of the game against the Air Force 27-24.

Tickets for the MW Football Championship game will be available at Noon MT today through the Wyoming ticket office both by phone and online: (307-766-7220 or GoWyo.com/tickets) Cowboy fans are encouraged to order tickets online or in person to avoid long waits on the phone.
