Josh Adams and Jason McManamen earned more honors this week from the Mountain West coaches. Josh Adams, who has already earned the Mountain West Player of the Year by the media and was a 1st team All-Mountain West selection by the media can keep piling up awards.
Adams was selected to the All-Mountain West 1st team by the coaches. Jason McManamen was selected to the honorable mention team. Adams averaged 24.9 points per game, good enough for third in the NCAA and tops in the Mountain West. Adams also averaged 5.6 rebounds per game, 4.2 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game for the Cowboys. Adams hit 94 three pointers this year, second most in Cowboy history. He hit nine against Colorado State in February.
Adams also was named to the USBWA Region VIII all-district team this week as well. Larry Nance Jr was named to the team last year. The players from the USBWA Region VIII team is compromised of players from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, and Montana.
Jason McManamen earned his second award of the season by being selected to the honorable mention team by the Mountain West coaches. McManamen was also named honorable mention by the Mountain West media on Sunday. McManamen scored 14.1 points per game for the Cowboys, good enough for 10th in the Mountain West. He shot 45% from three point land this season which was best in the Mountain West and 10th in the NCAA.
The Cowboys lost to Utah State in the Mountain West tournament opener 88-70. They finish their season with a 14-18 record.
