Craig Bohl announced on Friday that he has hired a new wide receivers coach to replace the departed Kenni Burns. Mike Grant will be the new receivers coach at Wyoming. Grant comes to Laramie from North Texas where over the course of his UNT career he was a running backs coach, recruiting coordinator, and wide receivers coach, his most recent title. Previous to UNT he was a wide receivers coach at Western Michigan, Southern Miss, Iowa State, and James Madison. Grant was on staff at Nebraska as a graduate assistant while Bohl was on staff with the Huskers.

Grant brings 22 years of experience with him to Laramie, which should be a boost to a young receiving corp for the Cowboys. Grant has coached several receivers who have earned all-conference honors. In Grant’s 22 years of coaching he has been to bowl games 17 times.

Grant will replace departed coach Kenni Burns who resigned from his coaching duties in June of last year. In the interim football recruiting coordinator Gordie Haug served as the wide receivers coach. Craig Bohl waited until after the season to find his replacement.

Grant is a former quarterback at Nebraska from 1988 to 1992. Grant was a three-time letterman with the Huskers, and named to the academic All-Big Eight honor roll. He earned a bachelors degree in communications from Nebraska. He also has a bachelors in journalism.
