Sophomore running back Brian Hill was named this week’s Mountain West Player of the Week. Hill, who rushed for 232 yards and a score against UNLV finished with 250 all-purpose yards in the Cowboy win. Hill, who broke Ryan Christopherson’s single season mark for rushing yards, only needed 54 yards to break the record coming into the game. Hill was able to break the record on a 72 yard run where he plowed over a linebacker on his way to the end zone.

It was the fourth time this season that Hill rushed for more than 200 yards in a game. Hill finished the game as the number one rusher in the Mountain West with 1631 yards. Hill is now seventh in the nation in rushing yards. Hill was named a Doak Walker semi-finalist, but did not make the final cut to appear in New York. Hill averaged 135.9 yards per game, which is good enough to lead the Mountain West and good for eighth nationally.

The Belleville, IL native currently has 2427 yards for his Cowboy career and his fifth on the all-time rushing list at Wyoming.
