Wyoming junior wide receiver Tanner Gentry was added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list today. The award annually is handed out to the nation’s most outstanding receiver. Last year the award was won by Alabama’s Amari Cooper who is now an NFL wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders. Former Wyoming Cowboy Marcus Harris won the award in 1996.

Gentry is currently ranked 15th in the country with 109 yards per game. Gentry has 26 catches for 439 yards and three touchdowns. Gentry, from Aurora, Colorado, also ranks 12th in the country in receiving yards. He’s 22nd in the nation in catches and 37th in punt returns, averaging 10.2 yards per return. He ranks second in the Mountain West in all-purpose yards per game, 45th in the country. Gentry is on pace to be the 6th Wyoming wide receiver to go over 1000 yards in a season.

On October 1st the polls will open to fan voting. You can find the fan voting poll here: http://biletnikoffaward.com/fan-vote

The award will be announced on December 10th on the Home Depot Awards Show, with Desmond Howard presenting. The winner of the award will be given their trophy on January 30th at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida and be given the award by Fred Biletnikoff and keynote speaker Bob Griese.
