University of Wyoming sports fans are no doubt wondering how their football and basketball teams will fare in the newly aligned Mountain West Conference, which is losing three of its strongest members.
Given UW's disappointing 3-9 football season and one of the worst starts for the men's basketball team in many years, it's tempting to think that not having to compete against three of the schools with the biggest athletic budgets in the conference could improve UW's chances.
