66-65 OT
A lot of potential, but the lack of experience is telling.

We'll be fine. The entire second half without McManimal, Adams, Herndon...Shy working on depth

And yes, it doesn't count....

the future is here with Conway, Naughton, Morris, Moumeka. No defensive intensity. Beat at home by a D2 school is not a good way to start this campaign.
At the molecular level all mankind is a brilliant super-nova.

I'm not concerned. Our football team lost to a D2 school to start the year and look how good they are now.

To be honest our starters were never ahead either. Will take this team awhile to gel. I think Marshall should end up playing quite a bit he impressed me more than anyone out there besides Adams of course. Think we are going to struggle down low this year we don't have much right now. Too much youth.

Will be a tough year in MWC play.

I see Morris getting into the rotation...Dalton will add depth at the 3-4

I am pretty optimistic after watching tonight. Would have been better if we came out on top though....

I'm not going to make any judgement on the team after tonight. I do think they will get better as the season goes on. We still don't know what James will bring to the table until he is healthy but I think Marshall should start myself he is athletic can d up and shoot it and slash.

No Adams after the first 10 minutes or so. Or Henderson and McMannamen either. Mainly the younger guys for the most part.

Losing to DII schools in exhibition games has become the norm...everyone is doing it. St. Johns lost by 32 at home to a 13th century Italian priest.

Lol it doesn't. Still there's no doubt we're a far cry from the team we had last year. Outside of Adams, no one stood out among the starters, Herndon really needs to take his game to the next level this year, but he was really quiet tonight. Liked what I saw from Washington esp at the defensive end, Morris Marshall as well, he looked really smooth. Dalton showed flashes offensively, as did Aka-Gorski, but both of them, esp Aka-Gorski are liabilities on the defensive end right now so will be interesting to see how that plays out as the year goes. Also really curious what the story is gonna be with Justin James, he was on the bench in street clothes.

Good for the guys to get their feet wet, looking forward to the season, but definitely gonna be alot of growing pains I think. I can't really see us finishing above the bottom 3rd of the conference this year, but hope I'm wrong!! Adams is gonna have some special games this year!

Thanks for the feedback on the stream quality. I couldn't watch it live. I had to take advantage of their dvr feature and it was still choppy.

I'm not too worried about the game. Fort whatever shot really well tonight and a lot of young guys played the second half. This was far from being a normal game.

This team is not going to have a chance at the conference title in the regular season. Hopefully they'll win the easy ones and get a CBI bid off the regular season. There is a lot of room to grow with these young guys and they have a great leader in Adams. They'll be the team no one wants to face in the MWC tournament. The team at the end of the season will be very different from the team we saw tonight.

I predict Marshall to be a starter by the end of the season. He is a great athlete who can shoot and dribble. He'll be a handful next to Adams. The young guys looked young, but they look like they belong at this level. They're good athletes who are big enough to compete right now and they still have room to grow physically. Their skills obviously need to grow, but they don't look like an Austin Haldorson out there.

Biggest concern I have with the team is rebounding. The team was in terrible position on the defensive boards all game long. This has to get fixed soon. This team is too short and thin to be out of position like that.

From a defensive standpoint I would like to see Trey at pg Adams at the 2 and Marshall at the 3. That would be a tough perimeter defensive lineup. Still as has been noted our problem is going to be down low.

Agreed with Trey, Adams, and Marshall as far as a defensive lineup. Also agree that rebounding was terrible tonight, bigs are gonna have to grow up on the fly, and rebounding is probably gonna be a pretty big weakness all season.

Not just defense, but offensively as well. Hopefully Trey is fine, he came back in and seemed to be ok. Trey puts pressure on the other team. He will make the occasional WTH sort of play (he had one tonight where he got under the rim and just threw up a prayer that didn't come within a foot of the basket), but his speed and aggressiveness on both sides of the court makes it a long night for the opposing guards. I think he needs to start.

Marshall had the best night of anybody other than Josh Adams. I have been on record as stating that Shyatt will elect to go with two small guards most of the time (2 of Adams/Lieberman/TW3), but I think Marshall might have the skill set to play alongside Adams in a bigger lineup.

Conway played a bit in the 2nd half and overtime, I think he's got potential to be a great player. I think as of right now he's our best ball handler, but I'm not sure how much run he'll get this season with how many guards are on the chart ahead of him. He had an impressive offensive rebound at one point which I thought showcased is athleticism, but didn't do much statistically.

We'll see, but I'm not really expecting Conway to be a major contributor this season unless there's some injuries ahead of him. I do think he's gonna be a starter down the road tho.
