ESPN has the New Mexico Bowl as the 30th ranked bowl (out of 34). It seems even ESPN is predicting Fresno rolling over WYO. Better motivation for the Pokes.

Beating Fresno isn't going to earn any real respect. Beating TCU, BYU, Boise State, or Texas next season would, however.

Ha.

I just did a write up that compares the bowl "rankings" from three different websites.

Not much love for NM Bowl. Fresno State is 10.5 point favorites right now.

Not to mention one of the biggest upsets (past Border Wars aside) ever.

I remember that before I went to the Vegas bowl in 2004 Wyoming was a 12 point underdog, and I felt about the same about that game as I do this one. I have no problem with Fresno being the favorite, but Wyoming has most of the intagibles on their side. The location and fan base are better for Wyoming. Wyoming cares more, because they have not been to a bowl in awhile, and they aren't disappointed in the opponent. Wyoming also has a chip on their should, and something to prove. If Wyoming wins the turnover margin, they are likely to win this game.

Provided they can recover some of those (like the many fumbles we forced but could not get), we should be alright. I can honestly say I have not been this excited for a Pokes game since I used to be an usher at the games. And that was when we went to the Vegas Bowl.
