Should the Cowgirls win Thursday, we'll play the winner of Idaho at Cal Davis next.

No idea. They don't seed the WNIT teams. They do seed the men's NIT though.

From what I have read about the WNIT in the past, they do not seed, but try their best to keep travel to a minimum while separating conferences. So the left side of the bracket is Midwest/West while the right side is all east coast teams. (For the most part)

Could be a repeat of 2007, the team is very capable of a championship run.

This brings up the question: Why did Edwards not want to participate in the CBI? Granted, it would cost the program a lot of money, but would give experience to the players and exposure of the program.

We’re a senior laden team that already won it last year. What’s the point? It’s not to get experience when you already have a bunch of upperclassmen.

The experience/upperclassmen reason would be the same argument against not playing in the NIT, CIT, and NCAA's .

But people care about the NCAAs (and NIT to a point)

The NCAA's and NIT are the goal. The CBI could be potential means to the goal (gain experience to be able to reach a real postseason tournament next year), but they are not the goal.

You also have to pay to participate in the CBI. That's not true for the NIT or NCAA.

Look at the teams playing in the CBI. Nobody from a Top 10 conference is playing in that tournament anymore. There used to be a time when teams from larger conferences would be play in it but not anymore. Nobody from the MWC or conferences at this level or above participate any more.

It is way past time for the NCAA to stop sanctioning the CBI/CIT and expand the NIT to 64 teams with an autobid from each league (just like the WNIT).

Well, they WERE in the WNIT.

Still waiting for a conference title/MW tourney title. Or at least an NCAA appearance.
