The MWC bowl schedule is now beyond horrible. It is time for the conference to drop the traditional model and think outside of the box. The schedule of MWC v. MAC/CUSA/Sun Belt in undesirable locations is not sustainable or worthwhile whatsoever. I would be for something like an 8 team playoff with other conference(s) with the games to be hosted in desirable locations.

There should be a push for multiple bowl games in Vegas. It is the best place to have one. Start a cowboy bowl and hold it there ( isn’t our golf tournament held there?).

Las Vegas was a barely-better-than-minimum payout bowl. Played before freakin' Christmas Day. That nobody watched.

The bowl schedule was a poop-show long before now and it's not really any different without the Las Vegas Bowl.

And there will be a good number of years that a PAC-12 or SEC or whatever won't have enough eligible teams to take the LV slot and it will go to someone else.

Vegas Bowl is moving to the new stadium. Additionally, it has been the MWC's only tie-in to a Power 5 team. Losing the Vegas Bowl relegates the MWC even lower on the totem bowl. Any argument that the Vegas Bowl wasn't the MWC's best tie-in is wrong. This is a huge loss no doubt about it. The rest of the bowl lineup is terrible for numerous reasons (location, date, opponent, payout, etc...).

Time to bail on the traditional bowl structure.

Just get rid of bowl tie-ins period.

Welp folks, there’s no need to drop down to FCS. We have officially been relegated to a tier below the Power 5 conferences. Make no mistake about it. Not only will programs like Wyoming never make a national championship, we’ll also be hard-pressed to even play on the same field as a Power 5 program in the post-season.

The crappy part about it all - there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it!

Not sure I will be tuning in to watch a great Oregon State team play that sleeper from the SEC, Vanderbilt. But, maybe the 800 people in the new Gruden Stadium will look good on television. Central Florida messed with the big boy's last bowl season, not sure “Power Five,” wants that to happen again.

It's funny you mention that.. I think Vegas has these visions of a USC/Alabama game in Vegas.. but the scenario you laid out is the more likely case. And honestly, does the Pac12 even travel that well? There's probably only a handful of SEC fan bases that travel well and will go anywhere. But the Kentucky/Vandy/Missouri/South Carolina ain't gonna travel.. and if it's the 6th or 7th SEC team, will those fanbases see the game as "too below us" and not travel?

Oh, it was our best bowl tie-in. And it was also crap. All we are losing is a generic "anyone-over-.500-can play your conference champion" bowl. We'll find ourselves in another, similarly situated junk bowl.
