Is the end of the WAC near? Rumors are that 1 team is being courted for another conference and another is investigating dropping athletics.
Would any team be willing to join to bring membership to the ncaa mandated 8?
WAC might be on its last breath. Kind of odd thinking back to the days we were a part of it to what it has become now.
OT: End of the WAC?

Chicago State is the one that's about to go belly up.
Missouri-Kansas City is the one rumored to be heading back to the Summit League.
No idea what'll happen to the others in that conference.

Incidentally, UW's swimming program is in the WAC now. Rejoined about 2-3 years ago.

No to BYU. Always no to BYU. They need to rot and die rather than get yet another chance to backstab us to try and destroy our programs again.

I don't get the love for UTEP.

Like SJSU does for Fresno?fromolwyoming wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2017 11:50 amGives UNM an actual in conference and regional rival.
UTEP would be just another parasitic mouth to feed IMHO. They're awful.

I don't believe UTEP would be as bad as SJSU. But I guess I'm not completely sure of all the dynamics.

Roger that. I'm 1000% against personally.

More news about our old conference....
Cal State-Bakersfield, whom we played a couple of times in basketball, is leaving the WAC for the Big West Conference which makes perfect sense for them since the BWC is basically an all-California bus league....with a trip to Hawaii every so often. UH-Manoa has all of their Olympic sports in that conference.
If one more school leaves the WAC...it's over!!!!!

Yep. SJSU actually was in the Big West up until 1996 when they joined along with 5 other schools to start a three-year horror called the WAC-16.joshvanklomp wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 1:04 pmSounds like the perfect conference for San Jose.....Wyokie wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 11:39 am More news about our old conference....
