Re: Marcus Arroyo - UNLV Front Runner

They wanted a young coach to help recruiting. He has put together quite a nice resume since he was here. I saw his name mentioned in other coach searches this year it was probably only a matter of time until he got a head job. Hiring a coordinator from a strong program coming off a conference champi...

Re: Maybe it is just bad luck?

I am going with simple bad luck. Happens at every level of the sport. Out of curiosity, I checked and, like most every stadium with newer turf, both Tula and Wyoming use FieldTurf. That said, care and maintenance, like grass, varies on artificial services, and footing could feel better on some field...

Re: Tevis Bartlett

Might be trying to get back in wrestling shape to take a shot at freestyle, two more weight classes there over 200lbs and under heavyweight. Meanwhile, a good wrestling partner for practice.

Re: Fire Vigen!

I am now and have always been a fan of Vigen. He is a good coach and seems to be a good guy - I have never met him. My take on our offense – It has not changed, we are still a multiple offense, but running more or much more spread option and RPOs. With a good coach, an offense will evolve according ...

Re: Different Ways of Dealing with Players in Legal Trouble

Not sure Nebraska should or could have done anything differently. I read today that Coach Frost was notified in mid-September, that a representative from a California police department wanted to talk with his player. Frost exhausted every option as did the Nebraska AD but the two were blocked by cli...

Re: So appears we are looking for a new DC

He was a good one, but coaches moving on is just part of big-time athletics - at least we are not looking for as many as Alabama. Who knows, it's possible we will find another terrific coordinator.

Re: I visited the CSU board earlier today

On television it looked like Bobo was hurting just trying to walk - I feel bad for the guy. They may not have to pay him much to leave, looks like he might need to get out and find something less strenuous for his health.

Re: Start Nick Smith vs SJSU

My take - If we keep winning, burn the redshirt, looking four years down the road is too much in today's sports. Plus, not redshirting will keep poachers from power-5 conferences away from a player that could become a grad transfer as a fifth-year senior. Chambers looked terrific yesterday - Win now...

I thought about passing it off as history myself - retired in 2012 after 42 years teaching history and English - oh, and 42 years of coaching - loved it all

Re: Brian Hill Waved

Hill cleared waiver wire today, expected to be signed to Bengals practice squad. Money wise he will earn a minimum of around $130,000, but with his year in the league, he will likely get more. Not bad, at least in my world.

Brian Hill waived by Cincinnati, most pundits expected him to make the team - hope he gets another shot.

The Grass is not Always Greener

I see where David Engelhaupt a two-star tight end in the 2016 class from Norfolk Catholic in Nebraska, is no longer on the Nebraska Football Team. If memory serves me right, and at 70, who knows, he was the kid that de-committed the day before signing day from Wyoming. Listed at 6’3 and 240lbs. Neve...

Re: No More Vegas Bowl for MWC Starting 2020

Not sure I will be tuning in to watch a great Oregon State team play that sleeper from the SEC, Vanderbilt. But, maybe the 800 people in the new Gruden Stadium will look good on television. Central Florida messed with the big boy's last bowl season, not sure “Power Five,” wants that to happen again.
