Re: Arizona Bowl
I wonder if the bowl system even survives and is functioning in 5 years. Honestly, at this point, a g5 playoff with home games for highest ranked and a destination championship might be a better alternative to our current bowl tie-ins. If bowl system does remain, AZ is one of the better bowls for t...

Re: Arizona Bowl
I don’t know how Wyoming would end up in a bowl in Vegas. That’s pretty unlikely for next year. Current Bowl Ties: LA Bowl - No tie in since PAC has dissolved. Probably AAC or WSU/OSU being discussed. Arizona Bowl - v MAC Potato Bowl - v MAC Hawaii Bowl - v CUSA New Mexico Bowl - v CUSA Alternative...

Re: Arizona Bowl
My wife and enjoyed going to Arizona for last year for the game. Saw some longtime Cowboy fans who I generally do not see at the games in Laramie ( I suspect because they sit on the west side of the War) and the final score turned out right so it was really fun. Still I hope that if Wyoming gets a ...

Re: Football Transfer Portal
He made big money ($500K plus) at Texas and is making some money at Nebraska. Hard to criticize his decision that we probably all would have made at the time. Do you think he keeps all $500K since he transferred? Also, college kids are famously known for thinking about long term ramifications over ...

Re: Football Transfer Portal
I have to agree with this. He could have torn his ACL at Wyoming and he would be basically in the same position of having to prove himself.

Re: Football Transfer Portal
Neyor is at Nebraska now and is getting lots of pre-season hype again. If he plays well there he will easily be drafted. He transferred to a lesser program to get playing time and exposure? Sounds like he could have done that had he stayed. I think his trajectory at wyo would have easily gotten him...

Gavin Meyer to hit the transfer portal. I don’t understand that one.

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining
Weird, just heard a radio show discussing this. Prediction was revenue sharing will happen because pending lawsuits will ultimately force it. Assuming congress does nothing to title nine, then college athletics will likely shrink to 4-6 total sponsored sports. Men's bball + football then however ma...

Re: Draft
I saw that Solomon Byrd got drafted but did not see any other former UW players who transferred who did. It seems clear that if you want to get drafted your best bet to enter the transfer portal after a couple of years playing for any g5 team I think we will see Pregnon get drafted next year and Ne...

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining
That’s the problem. They have to be considered ‘employees’ for union recognition and the labor law antitrust exemption. And with employee designation comes a whole host of additional issues including title ix obligations. Or private contractors. The employee part also may exempt title ix. The job i...

Re: 24-25 Roster
As it stands right now, we've got 6 outgoing transfers and 4 incoming. Kael Combs has yet to commit, and we don't know if Kenny Foster is returning or not. Here's what I'm thinking we're waiting on: 1. Hiring a new assistant. As we saw last year with the Williams hiring, a new assitant can bring re...

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining
If you’re referring to some structure to limit NIL - It would be a clear Sherman Antitrust Act violation to agree with another conference or amongst conference members themselves to agree to NIL caps or something to that effect outside of the players becoming an employees and forming some recognize...

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining
Any of you law gurus know what a collective bargaining/revenue sharing might look like in the mwc or pac14 or mwc - some + some or??? It probably is the only way to get framework to control nil/transfer. However, if the profits are very small like at our level, there wouldn't be much to share. If t...

Re: Any new transfers?
I hope Linder is not done adding, we need a big man or two, maybe another wing… He can’t be done adding because we have 3 spots to fill and basically no experience at forward/center other than Kojenets. But make no mistake, we will be signing leftovers for players who couldn’t get a spot on Missour...

Re: Spring football
Not sure if this was mentioned - Keelan Cox is back in the transfer portal. He entered the portal in December and then withdrew his name. He now has re-entered. I don’t know the circumstances but I don’t think we should welcome him back again.

Re: Any new transfers?
Joe Glenn could probably get some NIL dollars. Linder can be Linder if he’s winning. Most people, including myself, are more than happy to look past an asshole coach when they’re winning. Now he just comes across as a Schroyer type prick. Hope he turns it around. Generally agree. The problem is the...

Re: Spring Game Cancelled
52 degrees and sprinkles is enough to cancel? I guess I don't need to hear the University complaining about people not coming over to Laramie for games in winter then. Not a good look for the Pokes. This might be a coaches’ call to avoid potential injuries from a wet field. IDK but just speculating...
