The Wyoming Cowboys are fresh off of a Border War win against Colorado State this past Saturday night. The Cowboys slogged their way to a win over the Rams in blizzard-like conditions to keep the Bronze Boot in Laramie for another year. Now it’s onto a new week and the Cowboys will take on Air Force.

The Cowboys did what they’ve done best this season, and that’s play good defense and the offense doing just enough to pull out a victory. The Cowboys got the go-ahead score from running back Kellen Overstreet to put the Pokes up for good.

This weekend the Cowboys will take on another familiar opponent, Air Force. The Falcons had a three game winning streak going on before last weekend. The Army Black Knights came to town and shut the Falcons down, 21-0 in Colorado Springs.

Air Force is led by their quarterback Arion Worthman. Worthman is your typical triple option quarterback, the offense Air Force has run for a long time. Arion Worthman is 44/87 for 925 yards and nine touchdowns on the season, versus three interceptions. He also has 200 carries for 793 yards and 13 touchdowns. Falcon running back Timothy McVey has 103 carries for 651 yards and six touchdowns. On the season the Falcons have 2892 yards rushing the 31 touchdowns. Air Force ranks sixth in rushing offense nationwide.

On defense the Falcons rank 67th nationally, giving up 394 yards per game. Defensively they’re led by senior linebacker Jack Flor, who has 76 tackles on the season, averaging 8.44 per game. Flor also leads the team in sacks with two on the season. As a team the Falcons have six sacks on the season while giving up 16.

The visiting team, Wyoming, is led by their quarterback Josh Allen. Allen is 133/240 for 1588 on the season with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. Allen also has 222 yards rushing and four touchdowns. The Wyoming offense is lacking compared to last season, however, their defense has been considerably better.

Defensively the Cowboys are led by sophomore linebacker Logan Wilson who has 85 tackles on the season. Shortly behind him a junior defensive back Andrew Wingard who has 83 tackles on the season. Carl Granderson leads the Cowboys with 6.5 sacks on the season, coming off of the edge. As a team Wyoming ranks 24th in the country, giving up 329 yards per game.

At the time of this writing, Wyoming is currently a three point underdog to the Falcons with an over/under of 53.5. According to the Sagarin rankings Wyoming comes in at 78th, while Air Force comes in at 90th. Jeff Sagarin has the Cowboys as two point winners with a combined score of 51.
