The 2018 football recruiting class has started off on the right foot within the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies. The Wyoming coaching staff has seen two verbal commitments from Aurora in 6’1″, 175-pound free safety Cameron Murray (Overland) and 6’3″, 200-pound wide receiver Gunner Gentry (Grandview).

Murray was the first verbal commitment of the 2018 class when he came on board February 24th.  He was offered by the Cowboys on February 17th and it was his lone offer.

Murray recorded 105 tackles, 4.0 sacks and 8.0 passes defended from his safety position.

He was not ranked by the major recruiting services as of this time.

Gentry probably is a last name most all Cowboy fans recognize, as Gunner’s older brother Tanner, was an all-conference wide receiver this past season for Wyoming.  Tanner currently is on the Chicago Bears roster.

Gunner was the first official offer given out in the 2018 class by coach Craig Bohl and his staff.  He was offered back on January 19th.  The Grandview star wide-out had 46 catches, 823 yards receiving and had 10 touchdowns this past fall.

He committed to the Cowboys back on May 31st and also had an offer from Montana State.  He was rated as a 3-star prospect by Rivals and a 2-star prospect by Scout.

Both Murray and Gentry’s lead recruiter was defensive end coach A.J. Cooper.
