It wasn’t pretty and the officials were a little too whistle happy at times but the Cowboys have “survived and advanced” to the next round of the CBI with a 78-75 win over North Dakota State. Leonard Washington was the star of the night scoring 22 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. The Pokes only checked off one box from my checklist posted yesterday (hustle) and lacked in the defense and constant offensive production areas but the hustle and desire was enough to see them through.

With the win the team has earned a trip to Pullman, Washington where they will take on the Washington State Cougars next Monday night. The winner of this match up will play the winner of TCU/Oregon State game, so a Mountain West matchup with the Horned Frogs one final time could take place. You can see the entire CBI bracket HERE if you are curious as to what other schools are still taking part in the third division of March Madness.
